Product Description

Dr. Robert Picirilli has meticulously researched the early history of Free Will Baptist. The result is this book, Little Known Chapters in Free Will Baptist History, which shares some compelling chapters of that history. Readers will find a better understanding of the complex historical roots and come away with a greater appreciation for men and women who blazed the trail for this denomination.

Dr. Picirilli begins the book by revealing the origin of the name of the denomination. Other chapters examine Robert Heaton and Separate Baptist Origins from 1808-1842, Elias Hutchins and Jesse Heath from 1829-1833, Thomas Peden from 1892-1910, and John H. Wolfe from 1910-1935. The final chapter connects to the current generation by weaving together history and personal stories related to the traveling quartets from Free Will Baptist Bible College from 1949-1954. The author delves deeply into key seg-ments of denominational history that provide a fuller picture of the past. With the ad-dition of so many original journal entries, pictures, and pieces of historical documents the author has given readers a remarkable connection to the past.
