This was a very enjoyable book that was hard to put down. Even the best planned events/weddings sometimes are derailed by love, as Vanessa and Logan soon find out. The question is whether a stubborn couple can admit they are still in love after their first failure.

I was given this book by The Book Club Network and the author in exchange for my honest review.

Sometimes romance novels tend to be rather unbelievable. There is much reality in CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE. Vanessa has moved many times with her military family, including to Florida for her senior year in high school, where she meets Logan and they fall in love. To avoid having to move with her mom and brother to Colorado during an upcoming deployment for her father, Logan and Vanessa elope during a spring break trip. They love each other but that is put to the test when Logan chooses to attend college in Oklahoma to pursue his dream of being a storm chaser, rather than stay in Florida with Vanessa. Neither of them was mature enough to make it work, so they divorce after two years. Vanessa is good at "hellos" and "goodbyes" but not so good at knowing how to maintain a relationship, whether it's friendship or a marriage. I've heard my daughter (who attended 3 different schools in 4 years of high school) say much the same thing. The book alternated between present day and about ten years in the past to give Vanessa and Logan's back story. In present day, Vanessa is engaged to Ted, a safe ER doctor, who seemed quite predictable (and pretty much opposite of Logan). Because Ted wants to combine their wedding with a medical conference in Florida, Vanessa goes back "home" to Florida to plan a destination wedding with the help of her high school friend, Megan. Walking on the beach, she has an encounter with Logan, who is back with his storm chasing team to visit his parents. A hurricane throws them all together again soon after. I liked the way the book progressed with the character development, with both Vanessa and Logan wrestling with their past mistakes and coming to terms with what they needed to do to change and make things right, and that it was over a period of several months, which made it more realistic. Each chapter opens with a quote, which is something I really liked. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series, ALMOST LIKE BEING IN LOVE, which is Logan's sister's story.

Author Beth K. Vogt explores the what ifs of past mistakes in love in her novel Crazy Little Thing Called Love. We have a story of a couple who have been divorced for eight years, who meet quite unexpectedly a couple of times that leads them both to start questioning their lives and their choices. Not only do we get to know the couple in their present lives, but we are treated to the beginnings and the ending of their first marriage. This was a lovely story of second chances and the power of forgiveness. I thought that it was a neat idea that our leading couple, Vanessa and Logan both shared the same last name of Hollister before their marriage. I felt the author did an excellent job of showing realistically the parents reactions when they found out their young 18 year olds had gotten married in secret and what that cost everyone. This was my first read by Author Vogt and I look forward to more of her stories. I received a copy of this book for an honest review from The Book Club Network, Inc. and the opinions are my own.

This book was so much fun to read. It's very light hearted and fresh. There isn't a huge cliff hanger or something to make you bite your nails. This would be a perfect beach read or on a road trip. It was just nice to read a novel that made me smile and didn't bog me down with a heavy storyline.

The story starts with Vanessa planning a destination wedding to her fianc Ted. She winds up in Destin, where she lived her Senior year. She runs into her ex-husband and that's when all the fun starts.

I really liked this book. It is the first in the destination wedding series. I think one of the reasons I liked it so much is because the characters actually reminded me of my husband and myself. Beth is a great writer. She is very engaging and fun, not to wordy and really kept me interested in the story. I enjoyed all of the characters. They are all very believable and fun. This book kept me wanting more but was light and easy to read. I am very interested in the next book in the series. I'm very excited to read more by Beth. Thank you to TBCN for giving me the opportunity to review this book. A positive review was not required.

I dont often read contemporary novelsmaybe because I enjoy travelling to different times and places through reading or because I enjoy the opportunity to learn something as I read a novel, but they usually dont appeal to me in the same way that historical books do. I requested this book because the premise intrigued me despite its contemporary setting: a woman planning her destination wedding encounters her ex-husband and a whole host of memories and mixed emotions in the process. I was eager to see where the author would take the story, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride!

This is largely a story about coming to terms with our past, forgiving those who have hurt us and asking for forgiveness from those we have wronged. Grace plays a large part as does faith in God, in His goodness, His love for His children, and His perfect plan for each of us, even when we get off track and take a detoursometimes for years. I really enjoy how the author doesnt oversimplify our relationship with God; we dont always understand His ways, but we can still trust Him. That doesnt make everything magically easy, but we can still move forward knowing who is ultimately in control.

The characters are three-dimensional and developed; each has a backstory that impacts not only their own individual lives, but their life as a couple that is itself a backstory to the main action in the novel. I love the layering in how the story is told, toowe peel away the present to add depth as we read.

This is a realistic romance in the truest sensea mixed up, imperfect attempt to connect one life with another, in all the messiness of this existence. I would highly recommend this novel to any reader looking for something different, for more than the typical happily ever after tale where all challenges are resolved and life is tied up in a neat bow. It doesnt often (ever?) work out like that, so those looking for realism will thoroughly enjoy this novel without having to suspend all disbelief.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through The Book Club Network (bookfun.org) in exchange for this honest review. All of the opinions expressed are my own.
