LGHudson5 Stars Out Of 5EXCELLENT ENCOURAGEMENT!January 2, 2021LGHudsonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I find it somewhat comforting to know that even someone like Anne Graham Lotz finds that she, too, has struggled with prayer at times. She lists her three main areas of struggles as concentration, consistency and content. I do not know about you but I could not agree more! She offers her latest book as an encouragement to guide readers in what she has discovered works for her. She also suggests readers to write their prayers out. Lotzs book also includes two of my favorite things which are inspiring quotes from Christians throughout the ages and a section for journaling, I highly recommend this book!
rkfall5 Stars Out Of 5A Great Prayer ResourceDecember 29, 2020rkfallI found The Light of His Presence by Anne Graham Lotz to be an amazing resource for prayer in my life. I am so blessed to have this book in my hands and I find that I flip all over the place in it to pray all sorts of areas all at once. She really is such a blessing to share her prayers in all sorts of areas with us. She has lived what she has written in these pages and it shows real, raw prayer. So, I turn to the topic I am wanting to pray about and see how it fits into my personal experience in that moment. For example, it might be fear and then she prays Scripture through her section on fear. I will be using this for years to come. I highly encourage this resource for your prayer time.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
book1 Stars Out Of 5NOT MY PRAYERS!!December 28, 2020bookI was VERY disappointed in this book and DO NOT recommend it. It is my belief that we are to pray to God as if we were talking to Him face to face....This book is full of "superficial prayers" of what one might THINK they should say. When I pray to God, I speak to him on a level as when I speak with someone I know. When we try to use
glorified prayers, we miss speaking with God on a son/daughter to Dad conversation. These "prayers" make me think of someone who is trying to find all the right words to impress another not just speaking words from the heart!! This book misses the mark completely.
Sandi5 Stars Out Of 5When you struggle with PrayerNovember 3, 2020SandiQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a blessed opportunity to read Anne Graham Lotzs book The Light of His Presence.
In this book Anne reveals her own has struggles with prayer. I can relate to the same struggles
with concentration and not being consistent. These 40 beautiful biblical-based written prayers have
given me such insight into my own prayer life. A wonderful example to follow in pray.
Many of her prayers have touched my heart so deeply and has enable me to draw more intimate in
my prayers to the Lord. Her willingness to share her inabilities and struggles are so genuine and show
that she is very real will encourage the struggling prayer warrior.
These prayer include Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and and Supplication.
Using Scripture also helps us to focus our prayers on the Lord and who He is. His love for us!
I love this book and it a great companion during my quiet and prayer time with the Lord.
As Anne writes, My prayer for you is that God will use my struggle with prayer to help you overcome yours.
And that, as a result, you will be drawn nearer to the heart of God.
Gala Bloodworth5 Stars Out Of 5The Light of His PresenceOctober 29, 2020Gala BloodworthQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Anne Graham Lotz is a phenomenal preacher/speaker with a deep devotion to God and prayer. She begins by sharing some of her struggles when praying; which was validating for me because it's comforting to know that preachers face some of the same issues with prayer as lay people. Her candidness about the inability to stay focused was a comfort for me as I, too, often find my mind wandering when I should be solely focused on God. Her earnest and humble worship at the beginning of her prayers has helped me to better offer God the praise that He so deserves. Her prayers serve as a template for a meaningful and productive prayer life as she humbly weaves praise, confession, gratefulness, and requests into eloquent, yet simple and meaningful communion with the Savior.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
