This was a good book, I really enjoyed it. It was hard to be a woman doctor in the 1800's. When woman doctors were looked down on. Also, to be a Christian doctor treating those people our Lord laid on your heart. While people who called them selves good Christians looked down on you for doctoring them.
I really liked this book and the story line. It reminds me of how many barriers women in the past had to get through to be accepted. I like the compassion shown by the doctor and her determination. I think it was a great love story of how Letty's love and compassion conquered the town and the man she loved.
A good story showing how difficult it was in the 1800's for women to be accepted in professions that up to that time were only held by men. This book also dealt with immoral issues that were accepted as normal by many in society and the heartbreak that follows when lives and families are destroyed because of sin. A well written book!
