Lift the Flap Bible is a wonderful beginning Bible. Its target age is 10+ months 4 years of age. The stories included in this book are some that most people are familiar with: Noah and the Ark; Moses and the Basket; Daniel and the Lions; Jonah and the Great Fish; and the birth of Jesus -- just to name the most familiar. The pictures are very simple, but quite colorful and just plain fun. The pages are strong, thick cardboard and are easy for a toddler to turn. The flaps are also easy for a toddler to open. However, Ive seen very few flap books where the flaps were able to withstand the constant bending by little hands.

I sat down with my 4-yr old granddaughter to read this book and she absolutely loved it! After we read the book together, she then sat alone for quite a while and went back through the book. We have several beginner bibles in our book collection, but this Lift the Flap Bible has moved to the top of her favorites. She has a newborn brother and she actually tried to read the book to him! Thanks for a great little book! (reviewed by P.Howard)

This is a sturdy board book just right for those little hands of two through four year olds. (Well, I think the older kids will have fun with this book, too.) Candle Books has a definite talent for creating engaging books and other products for children. in Life the Flap Bible (Candle Tiny Tots) the illustrations are bright and colorful and the character's expressions will definitely tell the story's point - fierce lions in the den with a contented, praying Daniel.

The "story" on each two-page spread is very simply put. Two's, three's, and four's don't need a lot of words when they have a story-telling picture book. The engaging flaps are large and small (not tiny). They are easy to lift for those little fingers. And they complete the story. For example, the little boy who helped Jesus feed the 5,000 had a basket of bread. You lift the flap and the food and basket are gone and the little boy has a happy "I shared" expression on his face.

Little children will be able to easily "read" this book aloud to anyone willing to sit and listen. Once they have heard the few words that express the story, it will be short work for them to lift the flaps and tell the entire story themselves to all their own dollies, stuffed animals, and friends and family that will listen.

I love that they can discover birds and other critters in the world-of-small on these pages. I think this book is a winner and that children will love it. And no, it isn't the Bible. It is a beginning to learn about the Bible book for the little tots.

My two year old friend was drawn in by the bright colors, and could wait to turn the page and lift the flap.

The book is made of sturdy cardboard and so are the flaps, just right for little hands. My little boy couldnt wait to lift the first one, which was stormy clouds, and underneath,it talks about the flood, there is a beautiful rainbow.

There are eight of the best-loved Bible stories, and David had a flap to lift on each of them. The stories are: Noah and the Ark, Moses and the Bulrushes, Daniel and the Lions, Jonah and the Great Fish, Born in a Stable, Boy with Loaves and Fishes, The Lost Sheep, and Man Lowered Through the Roof.

The book is geared for 2 to 4 year old, and a parent can add their own bible facts to each story. I recommend this sweet little book and a great introduction to our faith for little ones.

I received this book through Kregel Book Blogger Tour, and was not required to give a positive review.

These eight Bible stories are aimed at children ten months old and older. Lift the Flap Bible is colorful and easy to read. The illustrations are big like paintings in other picture books. At the same time, the book is not overly large to carry with you to the dentist or on a trip. The paintings are multicultural. Therefore, the book does not point to one race. This gives the child the chance to become aware of other people in the world who look differently from themselves.

There are eight stories included in the book. I enjoyed the brevity of the stories. I had a hard time choosing a favorite story. Finally, I chose "One Boy's Lunch." This is the story about Jesus feeding the adults and children the loaves of bread and fish. The facial expressions of the characters are priceless. There is also an expression on the faces of the lions. The lions look frightening in the story titled Daniel and the Lions.

When I finished the book, I pondered about the flaps. None of the flaps would close tightly again. I have read and seen other lift a flaps where this matter of sealing tightly again was not a problem. In any case, it gives the child a chance to interact with the book. The book is delightful. I have read it more than one time. I will look for more Candle Tiny Tots labels for my family.
