Great curriculum for my 4th and 6th graders

We are in Book 1 of this set. I'm using it with my 4th grade boy and 6th grade girl, and it's been great for both of them. My kids asked to do this at home daily instead of the well-known Wednesday night church program. They are learning SO much more with this, and they get their fellowship needs met with other activities instead. I chose it because it's much more in-depth than generic programs that focus on activities rather than Scripture. My daughter has said, "Finally, I'm learning HOW to study the Bible." We're using this LIFEPAC with Kay Arthur's How to Study Your Bible for Kids. Work quite well together. As for the KJV issue, the Kay Arthur book uses NASB, so we just refer back to that. Comparison of the versions doesn't hurt; it's a learning opportunity.

I've been a home educator for 13 years (four students), having used this material and the Switched-On-Schoolhouse and Monarch versions from AOP. I am also a youth minister, Christian educator of twenty-five years. The material is solid, but the LIFEPACS require the KJV for answering fill-in and memorization which can be difficult for families using other Bible translation versions at home. You can use a lower grade level for students new to Bible study and still be confident of their complete learning because the material is so solid.

Be aware--if you are purchasing one level now and expect later children to use the same teacher guide; AOP updates their workbooks often and I've been caught needing to purchase a new guide after only a year in-between children which is another expense.

...wish the material used ESV or the NIV.

Lifepac Bible Curriculum is an excellent resource for families. It is rigorous, and as the grade levels increase, you can be assured your child is getting top notch Bible instruction. My husband is just finishing up his M.Div. in seminary, and he is amazed at the depth of teaching the Lifepac Bible curriculum offers. We are very happy with this product!

A little advanced if you are just starting (or still new to) your childs Bible education, just my opinion, but girls may do better than boys with this Life Pac due to the ways they learn. It's not bad, just advanced.
