Whether a stay-at-home mom or an airplane-hopping executive, a student or a senior adult, most women need a contemporary, encouraging vision for what it means to be a godly, biblically guided female in the twenty-first century. A biblical woman takes God's Word seriously not just at church but also in the everyday walk of life.
But can a significant and satisfying twenty-first-century womanhood really be defined from Scripture? One that can apply to all women and yet not be guilty of cookie-cutter sameness, pressing everyone into a common mold? One that will stay fresh even as a woman grows older? One that can guide her to the best in life? The answer is yes, and the result is a femininity without excesses and regrets that mark those who just go with the flow of the world.
In Life Ready Woman, best-selling author Shaunti Feldhahn helps readers take five faith steps drawn from the Bible that will help to define the best life possible. Each one is easy to understand, but requires bold faith to activate. The reward is being ready for the deeper life that God has planned.
Shaunti Feldhahn is a former Wall Street analyst and the best-selling author of For Women Only as well as a national speaker and syndicated news columnist. She and her husband Jeff live with their children in Atlanta, Georgia.
Robert Lewis is the best-selling author of Raising a Modern-Day Knight and Rocking the Roles: Building a Win-Win Marriage. He and his wife, Sherard, have four children and live in Little Rock, AR.

Today's world of opportunities for women has never been greater and at the same time then more difficult to determine which choices to make--be a stay at home mom, career mom, etc. Shaunti sheds wonderful light onto sorting out our true priorities season by season in our lives! I feel so hopeful, encouraged, and my life has been simplified through the reading of this book.

HaelieAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Tangible guidance for today's women in all seasonsAugust 3, 2011HaelieAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Well, if you know me or follow my posts at all, you have probably picked up on the fact that I am a very busy woman with a lot on her plate.
I commute at least an hour one way most days to my full-time job (and then back again). I have a young son (who will be turning 6 soon). I am the wife of a hardworking man. Oh yeah, and I write a bit on the side when I am able. (Which is really my outlet for the thoughts swirling in my head and is primarily my way of sharing with others what my Lord Jesus has done in my life and what He can do in anyone's life.)
Of course there are plenty of details I left out in that little life summary of mine, but you get the point.
I truly am a woman who lives "in a do-it-all world." And I am trying to thrive in it, with God's help.
So, when I heard Shaunti Feldhahn on the radio on FamilyLife Today talking with the hosts about her new book and study, The Life Ready Woman, I was completely intrigued. She described my life. She described my emotions. My struggles. My desires. She described me.
And, being a former Wall Street analyst as well as a current national speaker and syndicated news columnist, Shaunti knows what it's like to live in today's woman's world. Her research studies and writing along with that of Robert Lewis' truly get to the heart of what women today need to hear. They hit right where we need encouragement and tangible direction.
Shaunti and Robert don't just speak to women like me, but they specifically address, encourage, and guide all types of women in all seasons of life. Additionally, Life Ready Woman is just a portion of a larger vision and project called LifeReady which reaches far beyond female audiences. If Life Ready Woman is any indication, I would have to say that this LifeReady project truly will impact people, marriages, and families in a mighty way for the ultimate glory of our Lord.
Now, as you are considering this book for yourself or someone you know, I am off to get myself a copy of the study workbook based on it. Who knows...you may see me leading an online Bible study of this soon...

LaTawnia Kintz5 Stars Out Of 5What every woman needs to success!February 19, 2011LaTawnia KintzQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I must admit that I am still reading this book. But, I consider this a good thing! I don't want to miss one thing that Shaunti and Robert have written! I'm fairly skeptical about a lot of books like this one, only because most of them are full of stuff that would be nice if I lived in a make-believe world or because most of them don't apply to me/my situation. However, I am finding this book to be most informative and I think helpful. In fact, I almost wish I had something like it when I was trying to juggle a job, raise children and be a wife, and be a woman of God and..... You get the idea.
One of the things about this book I like is it actually addresses the issues every woman deals with today while trying to be what God has called them to be. On page 37 is a list of typical problems that women deal with today... I know how many I circled, how many will you? The great aspect of this though, as long as you're honest with yourself and with God, there is healing and growing in all of it. Shaunti and Robert lay out some very practical steps of wisdom to apply.
Like I said in the beginning, I am still reading this book. But once I am done with it, I will be sharing what I have learned with my daughters and daughter-in-law.
