An incredibly popular subject of discussion in the body of Christ today is the whole area commonly called "Spiritual Warfare". As one reads the Gospel accounts, it doesn't take long to see there seemed to be much more overt demonic activity in Palestine at the time of Christ than there is in Western culture today.
But that is not true of our world as a whole. Even Western culture is moving away from secular humanism with its emphasis on rationalism and the mind, toward a worldview some have called "cosmic humanism"- a man-centered belief system with the added dimension of the supernatural. This evolving worldview is reflected in the rapid embracing and repackaging of eastern mystic beliefs into what is called the New Age movement.
It seems spiritual warfare is being discussed and taught more now than at any time in recent history. Yet, much of what is being taught today about Satan and demons is erroneous and unbiblical. However, this increased attention given to the subject can be used of the Lord for good in that it can move all Christians to search out the Scriptures and determine what the Word really teaches about Satan and the Christian's response to him. This study seeks to become a partner in this process.
Eddie Rasnake met Christ in 1976 as a freshman in college. He graduated with honors from East Tennessee State University in 1980. he and his wife, Michele, served for nearly seven years on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. Their first assignment was the University of Virginia, and while there they also started a Campus Crusade ministry at James Madison University. Eddie then served four years as campus director of the Campus Crusade ministry at the University of Tennessee. In 18989, Eddie left Campus Crusade to join Wayne Barber at Woodland Park Baptist Church as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Training. He has been ministering in Eastern Europe in the role of equipping local believers for more than a decade and has published materials in Albanian, German, Greek, Italian, Romanian, and Russian. Eddie serves on the boards of directors of the Center for Christian Leadership in Tirana, Albania, and the Bible Training Center in Eleuthera, Bahamas. he also serves as chaplain for the Chattanooga Lookouts (Cincinnati Reds AA Affiliate) baseball team. Eddie and his wife Michele live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with their four children.
"A wonderful resource for those who are serious in their Bible study."
The late ADRIAN ROGERS, pastor, Bellevue Baptist Church
This study takes the students to the Word of God. A refreshing study that stays true to Scripture.
