This is the second study in Lucado's Life Lessons series which our small study group has purchased, and now currently involved in. I think the major reason we've again chosen one of the Life Lessons series is the quality and depth of the questions. You can be brief, or as in our experience, just one of the questions can open up an extended dialogue and more intimate discussion among ourselves. We've gained deeper insight into our own nature and our relationship to one another and to God. Two translations of the reading is helpful at times.
We have been using this book in our college small group. I like the format of the book. We first discuss the facts of the passage, and then discuss how the passage applies to the church today. Trying to get through the book of Acts in 12 lessons has been a challenge. I am hesitant to do any study longer than 12 weeks, but this time I believe we could have used a 24 lesson study. There is a lot going on in the book of Acts, and I find myself needing to add to the discussion beyond what is covered in Max Lucado's book when I am leading.
