Are you holding on to anger, bitterness, and past hurts?
We've all been hurt by somebody in the past. We constantly experience people who oppose us, cause us difficulty, hurt us, and come against us - especially those with influence, power, and position. These hurts weigh us down and can often seem impossible to get over. We obsess over the harms others have caused us, or are causing us, holding onto the pain of rejection and feeling robbed of justice. Sometimes these feelings even grow into persistent grudges or dreams of revenge. Is it possible for us to move on? Do we even want to?
The truth is that forgiveness is not something that happens between us and the person who wronged us. Forgiveness is a gift given to us by God. This means it's possible to forgive somebody - and move on - regardless of whether they deserve it. Life in Forgiveness exists to teach you how to let go of the anger, bitterness, and hurt that clouds your life. Through this course, you'll learn how to receive God's gift of forgiveness, establish healthy boundaries, let go of past hurts, and work through a process of reconciliation that brings freedom and resolution. You'll learn the distinction between forgiveness and reconciliation and discover that you can find peace in Christ within any situation. This distinction will be essential as you move forward in your relationships, coming to see that forgiveness and reconciliation are two different things: forgiveness is between you and God, and reconciliation is between you and the other person. Reconciliation requires that both parties be willing to go to God together to find resolution. Thus, it is not always possible to find reconciliation. This course will walk you through when reconciliation should be pursued and when it cannot be, as well as how to set up healthy boundaries in volatile situations. You will learn to forgive in Christ and find peace in every situation, through whatever means you can."
