A Leopard Tamed: 50th Anniversary Edition - eBook

A Leopard Tamed opens a window into a wholly other world. Vandevort, an American missionary who lived in the Sudan for 13 years, was the first to translate the Bible for the Nuer people. She received invaluable assistance from a native boy who taught her the language, eventually becoming a Bible teacher himself. In this special 50th anniversary edition (with a newly discovered epilogue and new introduction from Valerie Elliot Shepard, daughter of Jim and Elisabeth Elliot), we find an account of missions that was too honest for many in 1968. It is a book ahead of its time. Fifty years later, in a world that yearns for authenticity, we can finally understand Eleanor Vandevort's questions--and even try to answer them.
