Author/Artist Review

Author: Carol H. Farmer
Submitted: February 10, 2024

Tell us a little about yourself.  Carol H. Farmer grew up in Georgia, graduated from University of Georgia with a BBA in Marketing. She was a market research professional and later a sales professional.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Carol and her husband moved to the lake and have enjoyed the experiences of a new lifestyle where animals roam freely. She has always loved dogs and enjoys their free spirits and daily activities. Her affinity for dogs, captivated by their unrestrained spirits and daily antics, fueled her passion to craft stories that enchant children of all ages. A portion of profits will go to charitable organizations such as animal shelters.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Carol hopes the endearing dog stories will kindle warmth in the hearts of both parents and children. Her desire is that the tales will inspire readers to cherish their animal companions and consider adoption as a compassionate choice for the future.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  With empathy for the prevalent issue of overcrowded animal shelters and the unfortunate abandonment of dogs near neighborhoods or public spaces, Farmer emphasizes the book's role in shedding light on the pivotal value of animal adoption. She articulates, "Animal shelters are overwhelmed in numerous cities. Dogs are abandoned near neighborhoods or public parking lots when they cannot find a place in a shelter. This book aims to underscore the importance of adopting animals and the immense joy they can bring to a family."

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Influences are some of Carol's favorite children's books and her son's childhood books. Some favorite children's books are Dr. Seuss books, Winne The Pooh, Curious George and Beatrix Potter books. C.S. Lewis is a favorite author.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  These heartening stories not only spotlight the significance of dog adoption but also underscore the boundless joy these animals bring as integral members of a family.
