Including the True Story of the Remarkable Love Affair between Joy Davidman and C. S. Lewis
There has probably never been a less likely couple: she, an American divorcee and the mother of two young boys; he, an Oxford don and confirmed bachelor who inhabited an eccentric household with his brother, a retired Royal Army major. Yet the relationship of C. S. Lewis and Joy Davidman, portrayed in this moving autobiography by her son Douglas Gresham, was destined to become of the most deeply moving love stories of our time.
Douglas Gresham is the son of Joy Davidman, who later married C.S. Lewis. As a boy, Gresham lived at "The Kilns," the Oxfordshire home Lewis shared with his brother Warnie, and then Davidman. After many years in Tasmania, Australia, he now lives in County Carlow, Ireland.

A must read!July 16, 2012LucyHickory Grove, South CarolinaAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Lenten Lands is an autobiography by Douglas Gresham, C.S. Lewis's stepson. This is a book everyone should read. It is an incredibly interesting book and hard to put down! Lenten Lands looks at the life of C.S. Lewis from a different perspective- the perspective of someone who actually knew him and later became his stepson. The story then goes on to tell about Douglas's life afterwards and on up to his life in Ireland. The book further was enriched by pictures of Lewis, the Gresham's, and other places talked about in the book. I enjoyed this book so much! It is one of my all time favourites. I definitely recommend this book to everyone, not just Lewis or Gresham fans. Everyone will enjoy it and can learn from this enriching book.
