This CD is again proving that God is working through Leeland and the teksts they write. They are all either thoughtprovoking or comforting. The tunes are also very good and I often find myself humming one of them.
Awesome worship music , they came to my local church they blew the place away there music is very anoited it brings your deeper level if you allow yourselfs to listen and meditated on the words .. They are a blessing !
I was really looking forward to Leeland's newest cd. after loving their last one. I definitely was not disappointed. This cd is more great worship for Leeland fans. There is much variety on this one. Enjoy!
I never heard about Leeland until this album, and just listening to these songs, I discovered how Christ centered this group has been. The song lyrics on this album are just absolutely stunning, and so deep. The music is a God-send. There are sections in this album that you will just feel like rewinding to over and over again, because you hear the Lord speak to you. My favorite tracks are 'I Wonder' and 'Pages', and all in all, the songs in this album just flow in meaning and purpose to awaken the soul to the eternal plan of God. One of the best albums that I've ever heard in overall theme and expression, not to mention the music.
This is the best album that I have heard. All the songs are good and relate to each other. This is Leeland's best album. It's a must have for any christian, and one for anyone to listen to that longs to be saved.
The title track and their newest album/CD is called "The Great Awakening". Leeland took the words to poem wrote by Lawrence Tribble in the late 1700's during the Great Awakening and put a melody to it. The poem goes:
"One man wakes awakens another
Second one wakes his next door brother
Three awake can rouse a town
And turn the whole place upside down
Many awake will cause such a fuss
It finally awakes all of us
One man wakes with dawn in his eyes
Surely then it multiplies
Surely then it multiplies"
Leeland hopes to spur a new Great Awakening like that of the late 1700's with this song and their collection of songs on this album/CD.
I wonder is a blessing to me everytime I hear it. I saw Leeland in concert at my church and he said that he, his brother and sister were on a vacation in the mountains somewhere when he wrote this song. He said the lyrics just came to him one night which does'nt usually happen. You can hear it in the song and when played live you can see the joy in their faces when they sing this song.
The only thing I would change is the order of the songs. Starting with "I Cry ", then "Pages", "I wonder", "Chains Hit the Ground", "Not afraid Anymore"... and ending with "All Over the Earth" and "Unending Songs". That way it starts with what a sinner feels like to becomming saved then to a realization of salvation and freedom from our sins to a rejoicing in Jesus and ending with songs of praise for all that Jesus and God have done for us in our lives.
