Learning Puzzles: Vowel Sounds

Scholastic's Learning Puzzles: Vowel Sounds promotes early literacy skills through fun self-checking puzzles. The center piece of the puzzle features a word with a vowel sound or combination underlined; the four pieces surrounding it feature illustrations with words with the same vowel sound removed. Ten two-sided puzzles are included for a total of 20 activities. This set will help children distinguish long and short-vowel sounds, learn vowel spelling patterns, develop fluency with vowel-sound spellings, and read and write simple words.
