Fantastic curriculum, but not a fan of the layout.

Content - fantastic! Literature choices - fabulous! Lay-out/format - In my opinion, needs reworking. The answers are at the end of every lesson in the guidebook. (There is not a teacher manual and then another student book; it is all just one book.) How do I give my child the book to read the questions and do the assignments, but not see the answers? I REALLY love this curriculum, and it is FANTASTIC in every other way.... a definite 'thumbs up' as far as content and quality of the curriculum.... but I would really, really love if Common Sense Press would have the 'common sense' to reprint this book and separate the answers out into a separate paper booklet (similar to Wordly Wise 3000 answer keys... paper, inexpensive, but separate!)

As a homeschooled high school student, I find that this book gives me everything I need to cover Language Arts.

My 12th grade daughter and I both really enjoyed the reading list included in this curriculum. While I also enjoyed the price, I found it somewhat lacking in content. Each unit opens with a brief introduction on either the author or novel to be focused on. The questions posed to the student are not very challenging; I sorely missed the Biblical applications included in other materials we've used in the past, specifically Progeny Press.

I was disappointed to find that there is no student book for this level. What parent is going to give their teen this book with the answers in it? We wound up having to buy another copy, and white out/staple/remove and remove pages of the answers. It was a real pain in the neck. The program itself is good, but I don't think it's worth having to jump through hoops because of no activity book.
