This book is basically Dr. Missler's teachings on his Learn the Bible in 24 Hours DVD set. Each chapter is a different "hour." It pretty much coincides with the material on the DVD's, with a few variations. Overall, it is a worthwhile purchase as a reference with the DVD's or would be good alone. It does not contain any discussion questions.
One note: The Learn the Bible Handbook consists of all the visual slides in Dr. Missler's DVD series. The Learn the Bible Workbook only includes SOME of the slides, but there are lines to add your notes. The Workbook also includes questions and group discussion questions.
I have purchased all three books with the DVD set, and I feel they were a good investment. The least worthwhile, in my opinion is the workbook, but if you prefer not to come up with your own discussion questions, then you'll want a copy of that if you're doing a home study. The Handbook is the best because it has all of the slide information and also enough room to make notes. I don't know why they couldn't have added 40 more pages to the Handbook with the discussion questions. I don't like being nickeled-and-dimed for every little item!
This is a great book to have as you journey through the bible. While I don't always draw the same conclusions as the author, it certainly gets me thinking and strengthens my relationship with God, when I read the bible.
