Publisher's Description

I am Lazarus.  And so are you.

The life of Lazarus is one of the most recognizable stories found in God's word. The chronicle of an ordinary man who found himself at the center of an astounding miracle. A divine process that fully revealed Christ's transforming power, through a resurrection that preceded His very own.

But what if the story of Lazarus holds powerful parallels for us today? What if his story of hope and heartbreak, expectancy and disappointment, death and life, is our story too? What if the transformation Lazarus experienced is available to you and me?

Stephen W. Smith presents a remarkable journey through the life of Lazarus. Smith offers eye-opening insights into the Christian life, as we encounter

A lingering Jesus
A life trapped in the tomb
The smell of the grave clothes
The need for others to help us
And the Voice of Love that calls your name

Come explore the life and legacy of Lazarus. Discover a story all your own.  And hear the voice of the One who loves you.

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I've dedicated my life to understanding how a person really changes. As a pastor for over 20 years, husband and father of 4 boys, I know what it means to "not" be transformed. I want to help people really live--really experience the life Jesus spoke of!

What was your motivation behind this project?  I have heard countless stories of people being stuck in their Christian life. The Lazarus Life was written to help people really change--really experience authentic transformation.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I have tried to make the subject of spiritual transformation easy to understand and actually experience. I'd say that The Lazarus Life lowers the "spiritual cookies" to the lower shelf to make available to all the great truth of transformation.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  I lived with this project for years. The message simply came alive to me and through the artist, Giotto's painting of the famous story in John 11, I saw things I had never seen before and loved it. I hope you will to.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Beyond any measure, Dallas Willard personally impacted my life along with literary mentors such as David Benner, Henri Nouwen and Paula Rinehart.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I hope the book will help.
