I love the cover of the series "The Rayne Tour" , they are so striking with the two colour system - the black and purple - two of my favourite colours. Last Breath takes off where Book #1 _Always Watching ended with two people Bruce and Tom being murdered and the killer Jerry dead. However just before Jerry died, he whispered his last words to Shaley - "your dad sent me". Is Shaley's dad behind the murders and does he want Shaley and her mother Rayne dead ? When Shaley's mum Rayne ends up being in hospital , it seems that their troubles are about to begin again and this time being laid in a hospital bed doesn't make an easy getaway. When it comes to light that Shaley's dad has been released from prison- their troubles become worse as not only do they have to worry about Cat - the evil paparazzi but now Shaley's father. In Last Breath, we also discover the meeting of Shaley's father and Rayne as well as the last time they saw each other.
What does Shaley's father want after all these years and what is the symbolism of the White Roses we read in Book #1 - Always Watching.
Find out all this and more as we discover who takes the "Last Breath" in Book #2 of The Rayne Tour by Brandilyn and Amberly Collins

Martha Artyomenko4 Stars Out Of 5November 13, 2009Martha ArtyomenkoIf you are looking for good, clean, suspense reading for your young person in your life, this series is one to look for. Brandilynn Collins tones down her excellent suspense writing for adults in this combined book by her and her daughter, to make it so a young person will be excited and drawn into this story, without being terrified!! In this second book, Shaley is recovering from the attack in the first book and contemplating the dying man's words, he spoke to her before he died. This takes her on a trip down memory lane with her mom and learning more about her dad, a person she has always longed to know. This book will talk about some things that are hard like being bullied by gangs, paparazzi and things that we in our "normal" lives may not be able to relate to, but Shaley's longing for her father, every child will relate to.
Christy Lockstein4 Stars Out Of 5October 30, 2009Christy LocksteinLast Breath by Brandilyn & Amberly Collins is the second book in the Rayne Tour series. This volume picks up immediately after the events of the previous title, Always Watching. Shaley is safe after the police killed the man holding her hostage, but he whispered a few last words before he died: Your father sent me. Shaken and frightened, she at first withholds the information from her mother, rock star Rayne, until Rayne is attacked and injured. Then both of them come clean, as Shaley tells her mom about the cryptic message and Rayne finally tells her daughter the sad story of the father she's never seen. The authors perfectly capture the voice of a teenage girl; Shaley speaks and thinks like a real teen; her thoughts aren't always sophisticated and grammatically correct, but it makes her character come to life. Much of the story is a flashback to Rayne's teenage years, and I wish that the book was a bit longer. Most readers will figure out the twist early on, but the execution is well done. I'm curious to see where the next book will take Shaley and her mother.
