I am not the eloquent writer Laura is, but she taught me well through home schooling.
Years ago Laura and I went through the 5 Love Languages course at our local church. It was quite a eye opening class. Before that class I never thought about this concept. Everyone has ways or languages that they either communicate to others or are communicated from others. The love languages I express love through are gift giving and physical touch. Laura is a gift giver and an encourager. Mr. Chapman is great at explaining that to have a great relationship with your spouse, you should know the love language that your spouse is most responsive to. Let me give you an example. As I said, I am a gift giver and an enjoy physical touch. But Laura responds best to Acts of Service and encouragement. So I can give her a bouquet of flowers, take her to dinner, and hold her hand and she will have a great time. On the other hand, if I write her a love letter with lots of encouraging words and fix something around the house, I really have spoken to her in love.
I have a friend who says, "happy wife, happy life". Laura hates that, but it is true. Guys you have to learn how to speak your spouse's love language.
The 5 love Languages for Men is a must read for all men young and old.
