Shirley Gates3 Stars Out Of 5October 9, 2009Shirley GatesThis book covers a good range of topics. A yearlong project to put together a cookbook is a very useful idea. The book gives some quick and easy recipes but they could be a bit more nutritious. Also a 13 year old could learn to make recipes that are a bit more sophisticated and challenging, but they are few and do not detract from the content. Overall I like that the material is God/family honoring, practical, fits nicely into our other curriculum requirements and supports a mom's instructions and advice.
Stacie Burcham5 Stars Out Of 5October 3, 2008Stacie BurchamIt really looks like it is going to be very useful to my daughter and I. She will be using it for a school credit. Thank you
Sharon1 Stars Out Of 5August 29, 2007SharonThis may be a high school curriculum ,but the chapters are a brief over view of cooking and other household skills. This is a very basic material and would be more appropriate book for a younger age group.
Ask a Question▼▲
Q: Can this be used for both girls and boys?
Although much of this course could be applied to either boys or girls, the opening paragraph of week 1 states, "It is very important for every homemaker to have a cookbook of her very own". This is followed by 18 weeks which focus on cooking and the development of the personal cookbook. They also spend one week focusing on haircare, which is clearly geared toward females.
