Jeff Manion (jeffmanion.org) is the senior pastor of Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he has served for over thirty years, and is the author of The Land Between and Satisfied. His great joy is digging deeply into Scripture and passionately teaching the story of the Bible in a clear and relevant way. Jeff enjoys running, cycling, and hiking. He and his wife, Chris, have three adult children.
According to Manion, one of the most difficult times to trust God is during one of life's undesired transitions. It's during these times that people firget the Lord is present as they walk through these moments. He asks readers: What if life's transitions are there to remind us that God is present before, during, and after these periods? While it is possible to move through transitions and learn little, they provide the greatest opportunity for spiritual growth. God desires to meet people in their chaos and emotional upheaval, and he intends for them to encounter his goodness and provision during these upsetting seasons.

LisaOhioAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Must ReadNovember 9, 2011LisaOhioAge: 45-54Gender: femaleThe symbolism that this author uses between the desert experience of God's people under Moses and our trials we are facing today is wonderful. The book is very easy to read and understand. I highly recommend this book for anyone going through their "land between" - whether it be a death, divorce, financial struggle, job loss, etc. How we react to our situation will determine how much closer we will draw near to God and how much deeper our relationship will become with Him.

It offers encouragement during those times of waiting when you can't see what God is up to. It encourages readers to keep trusting God during those 'wilderness' experiences.
