Tell us a little about yourself. I was born in Georgetown, Guyana, into a family of three sisters and one brother. My father was of the Muslim faith. I tried to follow that faith, but used to pick up the Bible and imitate the preachers on the radio. I left Guyana in 1972 to study nursing in the U.K. I became a born again Christian in 1978. Later I immigrated to Canada. I attended Christ for the Nations Institute of Biblical Studies, and went on to complete a Bachelor of Theology degree from Florida Beacon Bible College. I am currently working as a psychiatric nurse, but am praying for and seeking ministry opportunities and working to complete another book this year.
What was your motivation behind this project? I was challenged to write this book by my eldest son, David. I was also inspired by the Holy Spirit and motivated to see the body of Christ and all creation walking in the truth, as it is only the truth that sets us free.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that anyone who reads this book will be set free from the bondage of lies, secrets and deception, as L-S-D does not bring us freedom and liberty, but keeps us in slavery! It is only as we walk in the truth of God's Word and live a life of honesty, truth and integrity, that we can find true peace and freedom.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My favorite authors are Mike Brown, Ravi Zacharias, and Bruce Wilkerson. Books with a prophetic edge are a source of inspiration.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: The examples given the book L-S-D apply to any one of our lives. The title was chose because I wanted a deceptive title to demonstrate how the Enemy operates through deception in our lives. The book has many "one liners" that can impact our lives on a daily basis.
