Publisher's Description

According to Cottrell, God’s goodness is predictable. His mercy is dependable. His ability to work in every moment of every reader’s life, leading them to Him, is unfailing. But often in those moments, even the most devout are distracted by great distress, failing to see or acknowledge God’s presence and provision. Cottrell reminds readers that God is the hope, strength and deliverance we desperately need. In every circumstance, especially those moments when we least expect it, God’s voice can be heard and his presence discerned. He Knows Your Name is a beautiful, 2-color gift book sure to be treasured.

In He Knows Your Name by Travis Cottrell, he writes that no matter who you are, or what you've faced, you are acknowledged and loved by God. Even if you feel that no one cares for you, God does. He cares for the sparrows, how much more the people He has created? Cottrell encourages us to realize that God has a purpose for each of us, even if we don't feel like we're special or have a purpose other than to get through this life. After an introduction by fellow worship leader Beth Moore, the book is divided into ten chapters with inspirational quotations and writings of fellow Christians, with room for reflection and application. Perfect for all of us no matter where we are in our Christian walk, as this little book will inspire you to understand who you are through the Father that created us each uniquely.

The book, He Knows Your Name is by Travis Cottrell, if you are not familiar with Travis he tours with Beth Moore as the Worship leader at her events! He is an amazing worship leader who loves the Lord with all his heart and this pours into every facet of his life.

He Knows Your Name is a book that will speak to your heart. Travis uses scripture to clearly show how the Lord not only knows your name, but KNOWS you. When you are wondering, as you trek through the latest struggle, if he even knows you, you will find courage in that HE is walking this journey with you as well.

I loved the intimate style that Travis takes to paint a picture of just how much God loves you and cherishes you.

This little book would make a great stocking stuffer for a friend or relative who needs a little reminder of just how much God loves them!

God most often gets our attention in worship, Cottrell writes. He has written this book to help us put ourselves in the place where we can hear God call us by name. And when God calls us by name, we know we are loved.

This is an inspiration gift book. Beth Moore sets the pace with an introduction, reminding us of several principles about worship. Then Cottrell shares his thoughts on worship, giving many of his own experiences as illustrations.

He reminds us God is the God of surprises, both wanted and unwanted. God is often found in places where we were not looking for Him. Truth and emotions go hand in hand in worship as worship involves the whole person. We worship a trustworthy and faithful God. We need to make sure we worship God for Who He is, not Who we think He is. The worship of God is as unique as each one of us. Cottrell writes of worship in healing wounds, dealing with fear, going through trials or grief, and much, much more. He provides inspiring quotes from well known people and also has questions for reflection and application, leaving space for comments.

This little book would make a great gift to someone who needs to know or be reminded again of the importance of worship in their life. Perhaps someone going through a trial. Perhaps a person who doubts God's love for them. It is an unassuming book. It is not big and daunting and full of theological digressions. It is just a simple book in which we are reminded of the importance of worship, how we are to worship, and how God works to heal us through our worship.

This little book packs a lot of inspiration, power and challenge. Beth Moore gives a moving introduction, but Travis Cottrell's message is no less inspiring.

When someone knows and calls you by name it tells you ...

    you have been acknowledged ...

you are somebody, not just a number ...

    you have been remembered ...

    you matter.

His theme is built around the comforting thought that God knows each one of us by name, and what that means to us personally. In ten meditative chapters, Travis encourages us to put ourselves in a place where we can hear God call us by name. Each chapter reflects on a particular aspect of worship; for example, joy, hope, heal, abandon, comfort, and surrender.

This quote from the chapter on hope stood out to me: "Even when our uncertainty is not resolved as we'd like, even when we must face the tragedy we feared, holding to our faith will eventually lead us to a moment when God's presence returns. . . . That is when we can take all the pain and sorrow and offer it up to God. And that is when worship becomes the most beautiful."

He Knows Your Name contains questions for personal reflection and would be a great resource for quiet times or meditations. I was surprised at the depth of this short book and I highly recommend it.
