Publisher's Description

“It is sad indeed that there are so many true and earnest believers who think of a victorious Christian life as a “super deluxe” version instead of normality and, in the words of the author, are “so busy enduring their failure that they have no time to enjoy their faith.” The mystery of how to “be” what as Christians we have been born again to “become” is now an open secret in Jesus Christ—that the secret of a changed life is an exchanged life!

Author Bio

John Hunter, born in 1909 in Liverpool, taught for many years in England’s public school system. He spent most of his holidays preaching and teaching the word of God, eventually connecting with Major Ian Thomas and the ministry of Torchbearers at Capernwray Hall. After thirty years of teaching, John became a full-time missionary with Torchbearers, traveling to many countries as a Bible teacher. He spoke regularly at conference centers such as Forest Home and The Firs. John wrote more than twenty books, the first of which was Knowing God’s Secrets, and he wrote Sunday school material for Gospel Light Publishing. John and his wife Christine had four sons; several years after Christine’s death in 1988, John married Ruth. Throughout his ministry John had a key phrase: “For this . . . I have Jesus.” He retired from full-time ministry in 1994 following a stroke and died in 2005.

Ian Thomas
