Publisher's Description

Take six romantic adventures back in time to the Middle Ages along with five authors including Tracie Peterson, who tell the stories of couples challenged by the injustices of their times. Some couples are pulled apart by wars and feuds, while others have their futures determined by their oppressors. Can a faith be found to keep hope alive and give joy in all circumstances?

Author Bio

Tracie Peterson, bestselling, award-winning author of over ninety fiction titles and three non-fiction books, lives and writes in Belgrade, Montana. As a Christian, wife, mother, writer, editor and speaker (in that order), Tracie finds her slate quite full.

Published in magazines and Sunday school take home papers, as well as a columnist for a Christian newspaper, Tracie now focuses her attention on novels. After signing her first contract with Barbour Publishing in 1992, her novel, A Place To Belong, appeared in 1993 and the rest is history. She has over twenty-six titles with Heartsong Presents book club (many of which have been repackaged) and stories in six separate anthologies from Barbour. From Bethany House Publishing, Tracie has multiple historical three-book series as well as many stand-alone contemporary womens fiction stories and two non-fiction titles. Other titles include two historical series co-written with Judith Pella, one historical series co-written with James Scott Bell, and multiple historical series co-written with Judith Miller.

Dianne Christner’s first book was published in 1994, and she now writes full time. She has written several historical fiction titles and has started writing contemporary fiction from her experience of being raised in the Mennonite church. Dianne lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where she enjoys the beauty of her desert surroundings and life sizzles in the summer when temperatures soar above 100 degrees. Dianne and her husband have two married children and five grandchildren.

PAMELA GRIFFIN lives in Texas with her family. She fully gave her life to Christ in 1988 after a rebellious young adulthood and owes the fact that she’s still alive today to an all-loving and forgiving God and to a mother who steadfastly prayed and had faith that God could bring her wayward daughter “home.” Pamela’s main goal in writing Christian romance is to help and encourage those who do know the Lord and to plant a seed of hope in those who don’t.

Yvonne is an award-winning, best-selling author of 56 novels, founded and directed the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference for 25 years, and is now director of the Blue Ridge "Autumn in the Mountains" Novelist Retreat (htp://ridgecrestconferencecenter.org/event/novelist). She has joined Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas as Acquisitions and Managing Editor of Candlelight Romance and Guiding Light Women’s Fiction. She earned a Master’s Degree in English from Western Carolina University and has taught English and Creative Writing on the college level. Recent releases are a novella in Reluctant Brides and Name that Tune in A Gentleman’s Kiss (Barbour). Her 50th novel is Hearts that Survive – A Novel of the TITANIC (Abingdon), which she signs periodically at the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge TN. Her non-fiction compilations (Grace Publishing) are Divine Moments and Christmas Moments (2014), Spoken Moments, Childhood Moments, and Christmas Moments Book #2 (2015). She blogs at  www.christiansread.com and Novel Rocket Blog.

Jill Stengl is the author of numerous romance novels including Inspirational Reader’s Choice Award- and Carol Award-winning Faithful Traitor, and full length historical Until That Distant Day. She lives with her husband in the beautiful North woods of Wisconsin, where she enjoys spoiling her three cats, teaching high school literature classes, playing keyboard for her church family, and sipping coffee on the deck as she brainstorms for her next novel.

In an age where chivalry thrives, danger abounds also. Follow six stories of love and honor that will warm your heart during these cold winter months.

With settings ranging from the years 1367 to 1815, there is a wide variety of stories in this collection. Each author brings to life the mystery and romance of the time in their own unique ways. The beauty of the language and the oddity of the customs is always a pleasure to learn more about. The Middle Ages has always held a fascination for me. Times were so different then that it is sometimes hard for me to understand why things happened the way they did. But this collection was eye opening to the culture of the time and inspired me to look up different aspects of the era. This is a nice collection and the stories are short and easy to read. My personal favorite was A Stranger's Kiss by Yvonne Lehman. Even though most of the time I was frustrated with the main character for not speaking out what was on her heart. I realised however, that in the real world, we could save so much stress and confusion if we would only speak out. Unfortunately, this doesn't always happen right away. Fear and doubt riddle us until we no longer know what to do. But in the end the truth will win out and justice will reign.

I received a free digital copy of The Knight's Bride from Barbour Publishing Inc. through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is six books in one, some are longer than others. If you enjoy reading about knights, friendships and romance these books will keep you entertained.

Where Angels Camp - by Dianne Christner -

Amelia and Christian have an instant connection. When Amelias dad warns her away from Christian will she honor his wishes or will her desires win? Will Christian ever win over Amelias father, What exactly does he have against him. When Christian finally turns it all over to the Lord will he be able to handle what ever it is God ask of him?

A Legend of Mercy - by Pamela Griffin -

Ardghal and Breanda have grown up in a unique situation. Being raised in the same castle, yet not being related. They share a unique friendship and love. When jealousy, and secrets are revealed will their love last or are they destined to be apart.

The Strangers Kiss - by Yvonne Lehman -

This is so much more than your typical love story. Murder, suspense, mystery and more all tangled into one beautifully written story. Jenny must fight for the life and love she wants, yet will she be doomed to marry a man she does not love? When tragedy strikes who can she trust? Will she be able to endure whatever the outcome of these trials? And who is the stranger?

Tilden cant believe he has finally found her. Yet is he to late to actually save her? Will she ever understand him? I love the way this story was put together there is much tragedy and suspicion woven throughout this story as well as a large dose of forgiveness and understanding.

A Kingdom Divided - by Tracie Peterson -

I love the writing style of Tracie Peterson and this one is no disappointment. Arianne wants out of her house, to live without her wicked father. She is scared and relieved to be marrying a complete stranger, but will he be any better? Can she learn to love and trust him? When tragedy strikes the castle is it to late for her happy ever after?

Richard cant believe the fear he sees in Ariannes eyes, yet he is a patient man. Will she ever learn to trust and love him? When his castle and all he holds dear is in jeopardy will he be able to be the man God wants him to be and be able to save all he holds dear? This novel is full of mystery, love, tragedy, trust in God and so much more.

Alas, My Love - by Tracie Peterson -

This is a continuation of A Kingdom Divided. We continue in the life of Richard and Arianne yet focus on Richards brother Tancred. Tancred is a changed man and is now trying to find the true killers of his parents. Upon his arrival he meets a beautiful lady whom seems to look for him everywhere. When love blooms will he ever be able to make her his bride or will tragedy leave them from true happiness?

Helena has only loved one man, will God ever bring him back to her? On the brink of death she finds the favor of Richard and Arianne. Could she ever trust them with her past? When all comes crushing down around her will she be able to handle all that is revealed? I love the characters in this story and the depths of love, loyalty and forgiveness that are shared.

A Child of Promise - by Jill Stergl -

Harry is not sure what to think of Maela. When she is in need of his help he can only do as God would have him to do. As their trust and friendship grows he can only wonder what God has in store for him. When he must leave her will God reveal his plan for them or will he be to late to help?

Maela does not know what to think on Harry and his kindness. She has never been shown what true love looks like. When Harry opens her eyes and heart to so many things she will never be the same. Can Maela learn to love, trust and forgive?

I was given a copy of this book from net galley for my honest opinion.
