theoWAAge: 35-44Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5A new and excellent KJV Bible layoutNovember 4, 2017theoWAAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is by far the best affordable KJV Bible I've seen in a long time, Nelson deserves kudos for it.
Here is why:
-Excellent size for carrying around;
-Excellent font type and size for reading, with greater than average spacing between lines (I have bad eye sight and read just fine from this Bible) - seems to be at least a 9.5 font;
-Very clean interior design (done by the famous 2K/Denmark);
-Full verse reference set at the bottom of the page, which does not crowd the double column format and gives more references than an end-of-verse reference Bible;
-Complete set of alternative word renderings. This is more complete than most KJV on the market (including those fancy $200+ Bibles). For example, in Hebrews 1:2 "...he made the worlds", the word "worlds" has a note saying "Or ages" at the bottom (Greek aeons").
-Verse references are marked with letters (a, b, c, etc) in the text while alternative word rendering are marked with a number (1, 2, 3, etc) making for an easy distinction (some Bibles don't make that distinction).
-Each book has a short introduction.
-There is no in-text sub-headings (my preference, for a clean Bible text), but there are sub-headings at the top of each page.
-Lays flat in Genesis and Revelation (good sewn binding).
-Paper is fairly opaque and a good white. Minimum ghosting is noticed. Better than most Bibles of the same price range.
-Available in inexpensive covers and also genuine leather (a big welcome). I got the bonded leather and it feels good on the hand).
I hope Nelson also does a NKJV like this one!
