My husband bought this bible for me and I love it! Best study bible I've seen or used! Great for the person just begining to explore the scriptures all the way up to the belivers who have been studing for years and everyone inbetween!!!
I rate this KJV study bible so highly because of the content material and quality construction. You see, the text used is the pure King James Text: with the correct spellings; not the watered down (easier to read) KJV. The construction of the Bible is superb. Now, I have the 2012, black genuine leather, thumb-indexed, MADE IN THE USA MODEL. From what I have seen & experienced, the later editions have been printed in China...why? The leather is strong, the silver-gilding is spot-on, the KJV text is bold and readable, the notes are plentiful, the in-text maps are superb, the two (different color) ribbon markers are useful, and the different color thumb-indexing is wonderful. It's a heavyweight Bible indeed. I think that this particular KJV Bible is really an entire KJV Bible library bound in this one book! I don't really care for the notes of others, especially if their faith/belief system is not in line with mine, but they are nice to have for a simple reference.
This is the best KJV Study Bible you can buy. This study Bible is a must for Pastors, Bible college students, and Bible study leaders. The color is absolutely amazing because it really helps your study. The color maps, timelines, charts and etc are great study tools. The commentary notes are great for deep study and to help you truly understand the scriptures.
Great Overall Study Bible...But Room For Improvement
January 27, 2016
I've owned this Bible for about two months now, and I use it for my daily Bible studies...as well as my overall Bible reading.
The font size is very good, and the print is crisp so it's very legible. The study notes are pretty good overall, but there are certain words, verses, and subjects that they either give a generalization...or it's skipped all together. To be honest I'd much rather have it this way, than to have a very bad interpretation.
I really like all of the images of places/items as well as the maps and charts. It's great for understanding where the regions spoken of in the Holy text occurred as to their names today.
I've not noticed any misspellings as another reviewer had noted. (Acts 9:10 the word "certain" is spelled correctly in my copy)
The only really negative thing I can say about this is that most of the colored pages come stuck together. And it takes quite a while to separate them. I had to use an exacto knife to get in-between a few of them in order to do this. But even though it can be aggravating...it's not something that would prevent me from purchasing it again as a gift!
