I have previously bought the large print, hard bound copy and love it. It is very large to carry to church so I bought the leather. black, large note edition. I wear reading glasses so I knew that I would definately need the large note edition. I love this Bible----it has so much information.

If you are from the "old school" where you were taught that the best comment on the Bible is the Bible itself, then this is the gold standard for you! Dake has listings and lists of Scriptures for everything. There are comments also (rather short and terse), but never without Scripture references, and usually a list of Scriptures to go with the comments. Thompson Chain takes a different approach by topics, but these are titled lists that seem to be just the "raw" Bible. I like it (can you tell?) The print could be larger, but no large print is available (probably no present-day demand for this type of intense Bible study). The hard cover is best for hard usage... not a carry-Bible. This (in MHO) is a Bible to study the Scriptures, not follow the sermon. I believe it will help any person who actually wants to become a Bible Christian.

Rev.Finis Jennings Dake was the Walking Bible.This work is the best of its kind.I have owned one since the late 70's.

I enjoyed my Dake's annotated study bible greatly but was waiting for a newer translation to be used. The KJV is superb but the NKJV is just fantastic, I appreciated The Dake producers using the NKJV. The only problem I have is having to use my bifocals to read the notes. I do hope they will produce a large copy in the future. The lay out is a little different but I find it very easy to adopt too. It is just a very fact filled great reading experience.

Wonderful reference bible. I really enjoy reading what it has to say. I have a lot of commentaries and reference books and this is by far one of the best!
