Come on Finis really?1 Stars Out Of 5Come on Finis really?February 6, 2018Come on Finis really?Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 1Finis Drake, how in the world did you arrive at this philosophy?
"God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all present where there are beings with whom they have dealings; but they are not omnibody, that is, their bodies are not omnipresent. All three go from place to place bodily as other beings in the universe do." (page
Really Finis? (Complete Concordance and Cyclopedic Index," p. 81)
"God has a personal spirit body (Dan. 7:9-14; 10:5-19); shape (Jn. 5:37); form (Phil. 2:5-7); image and likeness of a man (Gen. 1:26; 9:6 Ezek. 1:26-28; 1 Cor. 11:7; Jas. 3:9). He has bodily parts such as, back parts (Ex. 33:23), heart (Gen. 6:6; 8:21), hands and fingers (Ps. 8:3-6; Heb. 1:10; Rev. 5:1-7), mouth (Num. 12:8), lips and tongue (Isa. 30:27), feet (Ezek. 1:27; Ex. 24:10), eyes (Ps. 11:4; 18:24; 33:18), ears (Ps. 18:6), hair, head, face, arms (Dan. 7:9-14; 10:5-19; Rev. 5:1-7; 22:4-6), and other bodily parts." Eric4 Stars Out Of 5The Dake Annotated Study BibleJune 13, 2017EricQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you are Dispensational in perspective, you will appreciate Dake's notes on the various dispensations, his handling of prophecy, and his treatment of eschatological themes, as he is premillennial and pretribulational. His level of detail in some areas is astounding, and he makes great use of Greek and Hebrew word studies throughout. He deals with many topical themes as well, and could not be dull if he tried.
A word of caution, however. The Dake bible is often billed as "Fundamentalist and Dispensational" in perspective...not exactly. Dispensational, yes, but fundamental not really. The bible is better classified as "Dispensational and Pentecostal." Dake is a proponent of speaking in tongues, some "health and wealth" teaching, he does not stand by "Once saved always saved, i.e. he believes you can lose your salvation, and he is off center in a couple of areas regarding the nature of God, which is serious. Because of his insistence on taking the bible literally, which I love by the way, he carries it too far and takes anthropomorphic expressions to mean that God the Father and God the Spirit both have actual bodies. This leads to tritheism, meaning that the Son and Spirit are not of one substance with the Father, but merely "one in purpose." Be careful there...Trinity means "Tri-Unity, three and yet one."
Still with those cautions in place, you can learn very much from the study bible. It is fun to read and learn things that you are not likely to find in most other study bibles. Just be careful to not be lead astray in those questionable areas mentioned.
