If you have ever wanted a study Bible, then look no further. This Bible contains ALL the average Bible student will ever need. If you enjoy and love the KJV or the NKJV, then this is the last Bible you will ever need at least till you wear it out from using it.

The only draw back is the weight and size of the large print edition. It weighs about 5 pounds and is a little bit larger than a carry Bible for most people. Even with that I would still BUY anothet one QUICKLY since I love being able to see the print better and the notes are the same size as the print. The large Bible is a 10 point font while their carry Bible is 8.5 font. It really depends on a persons taste as to the size they carry. But again, if you are looking for a Study Bible, then stop you have found it.

This Bible's study notes was done by a man full of the Spirit if God, not academics. I have other Study Bibles that are good, that are written by academic scholars, the history along with facts about the past is very well done. But they DO NOT hold a candle in comparison to the Dakes for your spiritual growth.

I hope this was helpful to you. I myself hold 8 doctoral degrees and that is why I can say what I did about the quality of the Dakes study Bible.

If you are Dispensational in perspective, you will appreciate Dake's notes on the various dispensations, his handling of prophecy, and his treatment of eschatological themes, as he is premillennial and pretribulational. His level of detail in some areas is astounding, and he makes great use of Greek and Hebrew word studies throughout. He deals with many topical themes as well, and could not be dull if he tried.

A word of caution, however. The Dake bible is often billed as "Fundamentalist and Dispensational" in perspective...not exactly. Dispensational, yes, but fundamental not really. The bible is better classified as "Dispensational and Pentecostal." Dake is a proponent of speaking in tongues, some "health and wealth" teaching, he does not stand by "Once saved always saved, i.e. he believes you can lose your salvation, and he is off center in a couple of areas regarding the nature of God, which is serious. Because of his insistence on taking the bible literally, which I love by the way, he carries it too far and takes anthropomorphic expressions to mean that God the Father and God the Spirit both have actual bodies. This leads to tritheism, meaning that the Son and Spirit are not of one substance with the Father, but merely "one in purpose." Be careful there...Trinity means "Tri-Unity, three and yet one."

Still with those cautions in place, you can learn very much from the study bible. It is fun to read and learn things that you are not likely to find in most other study bibles. Just be careful to not be lead astray in those questionable areas mentioned.

I was hesitant at first with KJV, however, I am extremely delighted with the Dakes KJV Bible. It clearly explains interpretation from Greek and Hebrew into English. It also provides some detailed explanation of scripture where others don't. The, behind the verse detail, so to speak...the who, what, when, where and why. Great tool for a better understanding into scripture which in turn provides a better way to preach the Word of God with meaning and purpose behind it. So glad I purchased it for my ministry.

After I became a new convert, my Pastor told me that if I really wanted to learn the bible in more depth to get this book. This has got to be the best bible ever. I have read over the years so many other versions of this great book, but none compares to this one. I love it. If you really want to grow in knowledge and gain more wisdom, purchase this bible. This is my fourth one. Enjoy!!
