Pierre Rosa was born and raised in Brazil. After coming to faith in Christ, he moved to the United States in 1997 to further his education and study for the ministry. For ten years, he served as an associate pastor at Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego, California, under his role model Dr. David Jeremiah. Pierre, with Brian Schmidt, started Truth with Grace (TwG) ministry, which currently broadcasts Pierre’s sermons in eleven markets around the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. Pierre graduated from San Diego Christian College (B.A. Biblical Studies), Southern California Seminary (M.Div.). He also holds a DMin from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. When he is not exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife Denise and daughter Julia, Pierre is studying, writing, shepherding or practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the local dojo.

Tell us a little about yourself. I was born and raised in Brazil. I graduated from San Diego Christian College (B.A. Biblical Studies) and Southern California Seminary (M.Div.). In 2014, I received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a focus on Expository Preaching. For ten years, I served as an associate pastor at Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego, California, under my role model Dr. David Jeremiah. I am now the senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Salem, Oregon.

What was your motivation behind this project? I launched the Christmas season of 2019 at Grace Baptist Church by inviting the congregation on a journey through the Gospel of Matthew. Having just finished studying the book of Ruth, pastor and flock shared the excitement of discovering the nature and character of our Kinsman Redeemer, now from the pen of a tax-collector-turned-apostle. I started the series by reminding them that God has gifted humanity by preserving a work that, along with the other canonical gospels, chronicles words and works of our Majestic Savior.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project? In this book, you and I will discover the features of the good news Jesus commissioned us to proclaim. We will unfold the kingdom parables in Matthew 13 as a roadmap that leads us to joy in turbulent times.
