Have you ever had someone peer into your innermost being? Have you ever made eye contact with someone and realized that they really saw you? I recently had that experience. I greeted someone and could not help but notice how intently she stared at me. She smiled and held her keen eye contact. When prompted, she said she could tell that I have been with God.

I am in the meantime—the time or season before the manifestation of God’s promise. It is the period of time when we wait for the promises of His Word to come to pass. I simply love how that word promise is defined. It is a declaration that one will do something specific. It is an indication of future success. God has given me His word that He will commit himself to specifically bless me, and He has given it to you as well.

If you and I are to live the lives God promised us according to Jeremiah 29:11, we must hold on to His Word. This requires patient action. Kingdom-building in this meantime is just that—a state of actively waiting for God’s promises. God has given me specific instructions and opportunities for the meantime, just as He undoubtedly has given you. During this time, it is imperative that we attune our ears to His voice and heed His instructions.
