I bought these for my 5 year old son to start his homeschooling with and yes they are intended to be taught from the teacher's manual, but we used them very well without it. Most of the books contain very simple and easy activities such as mazes, hidden pictures, matching, tracing and coloring, sorting, etc. that can be figured out without the teacher's manual. These books are meant for children ages 3-5 and they are easy enough that I will be buying them again next year for my daughter when she turns 4. God bless. :)

These are unless unless you get the teacher guide which costs $348. The booklets have no writing in them. They are useless on their own. It is too expensive to get the teacher guide. I wish I would have know this before spending money on it.
