Momof7Age: 35-44Gender: Female3 Stars Out Of 5Kindergarten Lifepac 2-subject SetAugust 28, 2016Momof7Age: 35-44Gender: FemaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3My kids did not enjoy the math portion of this set so we only did the Language Arts books instead. I did not like having to refer to the teacher's edition for the instructions in the Language Arts books either. My daughter did learn from doing these books but I would not buy them again for my other kids. We like Abeka and Horizons much better instead. God bless. :)
BrookeVancouver, WAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent!October 19, 2012BrookeVancouver, WAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I am very happy with the Lifepac curriculum and will be purchasing it again for my other child when he is in kindergarten. We did a few pre k booklets with our daughter this past summer so swiching to the Lifepacs was an easy transition for us. I like that Lifepac has a higher expectation for each student than other schooling options. I like that through the kindergarten math they learn about money, how to tell time and how to add and subtract. Through our local private Christian school the students do not learn these concepts until 1st grade. I also love the fact that they incorporate a lot of Bible stories, verses and examples in language arts and math. The only thing I would change is that in the higher grades there are 10 lifepacs a year per subject and with the kindergarten there are 2 big books. It makes it a little hard for a child learning to write to fill in answers near the binding. I have tried other brands of curriculum and they can get bogged down with lots of additional books and confusing grading and teaching styles. Lifepacs are very user friendly. If you are a first time homeschooler, I would highly recommend this products. I will be using this curriculum again for my other child and as we continue into elementry school.

extremehousewifeSan Angelo, TXAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great overallMarch 14, 2012extremehousewifeSan Angelo, TXAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Honestly I love Lifepacs. I grew up using them when I was a child and now that I am homeschooling my kids I have stayed with them. My ONLY complaint is that I don't love the new work book style. While growing up they had 10 work books per subject, and the books were similar to a thin magazine. Now that they have gone to two work books per subject (at least for K) it makes it hard to write in answers near the binding...not cool when your five year old is just learning how to write....making it harder is not helpful. If anyone actually reads these then I hope they will hear what I am saying and consider going back to the old style work books. I was extra challenged as a child to work through those books because I could see the progress so easily, it was a wonderful motivator. I would love to be able to offer that to my kids without having to use some other brand of curriculum. Other than that fairly minor frustration, these are still the best teaching tools I've ever used for myself or others. Lots of review, lots of extra things you can do to help drive the lesson home for the kids, easy to pick up and go, go, go. I highly recommend.
JessicaAge: 25-34Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5Boring and not well put togetherJanuary 7, 2012JessicaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 1I bought this for my son. He hates it and I really don't like it either. I used a different kindergarten curriculum for my daughter that taught math/reading much better than this. It is boring and I think the math is really complicated for kindergarten. Teaching addition and subtraction is not easy with these books. With the other curriculum I used, there were pictures to cross off for subtraction, which really helped my daughter get the concept. In Alpha Omega, they just put the problems there and expect your kids to just figure it out. It's been a frustrating start to school for my son. The reading is not strong either. My son loves books, but this curriculum just doesn't teach strong reading concepts. I can't wait til next year when we go back to what we were previously using. I definately think this curriculum has put my son behind where he should be at this point. Very weak kindergarten curriculum.
