It is very thorough, not too hard, but just right. My son who is very difficult to teach and keep engaged, loves to do math. I highly recommend this and all other Mcruffy curriculums. I am so glad I have found this. I am in my second year of homeschooling and didn't use this last year. I felt like I was missing something and this has filled that gap. (along with the reading program). I have not used Mcruffy science yet, and not sure if I will, since I currently have a program that I like. To give a little extra credit to my review, I have a degree in Elementary Education.
Amanda5 Stars Out Of 5April 6, 2009AmandaMy son and I loved this curriculum! It comes with games and laminated posters and the lessons include frequent reviews. I teach college math and I love the explanations in this curriculum. I also like that it teaches early algebraic thinking. This was a fun way to learn math for my son. We will use it again next year!
Kristen WileyBahrainAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5February 6, 2008Kristen WileyBahrainAge: 35-44Gender: femaleI used this book for grade K, and then Horizons for 1st and 2nd grade. I loved this curriculum! It offered a solid math program, plus lots of interesting games and assignments! It was never boring! My son was very well prepared for Horizons. I actually skipped a lot of Horizons 1, book 1 because he was well beyond it. The only reason I did not continue w/Mcruffy was because it is not well known, and I was afraid that ny son would fall behind in math. I actually preferred this over Horizons, but the fear factor the unknown(meaning the curriculum) is too strong. Silly really. I highly recommend Grade K!!
