Publisher's Description

Building a marriage is a lifelong endeavor for both men and women. Most marriage books cover the three C's--communication, compromise, and consideration -- but fail to address many issues critical to a healthy relationship. Family advocate Kay James calls these the "things I wish I had known before I got married": advice on finances, sex, children, and dealing with the extended family. Noting that the apostle Paul exhorted older women not to inspire or counsel younger women, but to teach them how to be wives to their husbands, Kay offers a lifetime's wealth of wisdom for creating an unbreakable marriage relationship.

This book was a good read, however its more for the engaged couples, still learning about each other. I bought this while I was newly married. Her advice is well spoken on her experiences, and I was able to take on some of her ideas and discuss them with my husband. However, most of her content deals with families, and we are older and do not have children. I do recommend it overall!

This book sounds wonderful. I ordered it for that reason. I do believe in a girlfriend system. I think that my down fall in life is that my mother raised me to be a business woman not a wife. She use to tell me that I was going to learn a trade so that I would not have to depend on a man, or wait on anyone. My Grandmother on the other hand taught me to cook , iron, and take care of house. I'm looking for some direction since I'm married with 3 kids and a full time job as a school secretary/regestrar/payroll clerk for an elementary school.I know I need to teach my daughter to be a lady and take care of a home, because I feel like a true failure in this department.
