Series: Wells Landing
Everyone in Wells Landing has long expected Sadie Kauffman and Chris Flaud to marry--despite Sadie's telling them differently. While she loves Chris, it is more as a friend than a husband. Yet at twenty-two, the plainest girl in her group, Sadie is also the only one who is still single. Perhaps it's time to be practical and marry Chris--though he still has not asked. But when Sadie meets a kind, handsome Mennonite, it seems her prayers have been answered…
With Ezra Hein, Sadie at last feels the joy she nearly gave up on. Unfortunately, others only feel shock that she would consider marrying an outsider. To complicate matters, Chris has finally begun talking to Sadie about their future. Distressed, Sadie will have to search her heart to recognize God's marvelous gifts to her--and find the courage to accept them, challenges and all…

Another enjoyable read from Amy Lillard! I have so much fun on each reading jaunt into Wells Landing and into the lives of the Amish who live there. Just Plain Sadie is another wonderful example of Amy Lillard's special brand of Amish fiction and a story not to be missed.
When I first read about Sadie in Lorie's Heart, I kinda didn't like her. She seemed just a little too perfect and even a little stuffy, but in Just Plain Sadie I got to see a new side of her, that there is so much more to her, as she faces the same questions and struggles so many of us do.
I've really enjoyed Amy Lillard's Wells Landing Romance series and I anxiously await the next book in this series, I know it will be every bit as good as Just Plain Sadie.
(I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.)

By: Amy Lillard
Just Plain Sadie is the fourth book in A Wells Landing Romance Series. Even though this is part of Wells Landing Series , I would say that you could read it as a stand alone with no problems. Wow, Amy Lillard has a winner in Just Plain Sadie. I have read most all of her books and Just Plain Sadie is at the top for my favorite. She had me hooked right from the start and I did not want to put it down till the end. Lillard kept me guessing how things would turn out , I know how I wanted it to go , but we never know. Sadie a young Amish woman has always wanted to to get married and have children. When things start to go a different way between her and her childhood friend Chris, Sadie goes a different way. She meets Ezra a Mennonite young man who runs an exotic animal ranch. Sadie is Amish and Ezra is Mennonite . This is a NO according to family and friends. What will they do? Why is it so bad for an Amish and Mennonite to see each other? I caught myself holding my breathe and tears rolling down my face several times. This is one of those page turners , you cannot read fast enough to see what is going to happen next.
I was given an advance copy of this book by the author for my honest review.

The Avid ReaderDunedin, FLAge: 45-54Gender: Female3 Stars Out Of 5Fourth book in series!May 3, 2016The Avid ReaderDunedin, FLAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3Just Plain Sadie by Amy Lillard is the fourth book in A Wells Landing Romance series. Sadie Kauffman lives with her family in Wells Landing, Oklahoma. Sadie has not had a date in years. Everyone believes that Sadie is dating her friend, Chris Flaud. Sadie is tired of waiting (she is only twenty-two) and wants to get married (she decides to be practical). She believes that Chris would make a good husband (since they are such good friends). Chris, though, has other plans. Chris has yet to join the Amish Church because he has plans to travel. He wants to visit Europe. Sadie is shocked. Chris asks Sadie to wait for him (who knows if he will return). Then Sadie meets Ezra Hein. Ezra runs Hein Ranch that raises exotic animals (for meat). Ezra is a Mennonite (not as strict as Amish). Ezra and Sadie are attracted to each other, but Sadies family is not happy with her spending time with someone who is not Amish. Then plans change for Chris. Now Chris is ready to settle down with Sadie, but is Sadie still willing to settle now that she has experienced real love. Join us in Wells Landing to see how things turn out for Sadie and check in on the Kauffman family.
Just Plain Sadie was not my favorite book in A Wells Landing Romance series. It was a little slower pace and there was a lot of time devoted to Sadie thinking. The same issue kept getting talked about throughout the book (over and over). Mennonite versus Amish! There is a little kissing in the book, but that is it (it is a Christian novel). Just Plain Sadie is easy to read and enjoyable. I just did not like it as much as the other book in this series. I felt that not as much effort was put into this book. There are some questions about God in the book that makes a person think (I liked this part). Does He punish and can you bargain with God? They are both good questions. I give Just Plain Sadie 3.5 out of 5 stars (it was okay). I just expected more. I will definitely be reading Amy Lillards books in the future (this has not deterred me). Everyone is entitled to an off book.
I received a complimentary copy of Just Plain Sadie from NetGalley in exchange for an honest evaluation of the novel.
