Series: Secret Keeper Girl
Sixth-grader Kate Harding has bigger problems than trying to get her parents to stop calling her "Katie." She has a major crush on her older brother's best friend, Zachary Donaldson, and in a moment of insanity she dares to write his name on the bathroom wall in eight-inch high pencil letters. It doesn't take Principal Butter long to match the handwriting to the doodling on her book covers. Kate is sent to detention, where she meets three new friends, and they all decide to become the Secret Keeper Girl Club. Her case of boy craziness is cured with some good advice from her new friends.
JANET MYLIN is the girls and co-ed event team teacher with Pure Freedom, an organization that exists to equip men and women to live vibrant lives of purity. She also heads up the women¿s ministry in her church and sings with Johnathan Weibel and the Rest. Janet has worked with youth in various aspects since 1992 and also served as a missionary in the former Soviet Union for two years. Janet is co-author of Just Call me Kate. Janet, her husband Andy, and their two children live in central Pennsylvania.
Grace4 Stars Out Of 5July 29, 2010GraceI did like this book, but it may not be as good as some of the lily books by nancy rue. I have it and the rest of the series about how 4 girls form this club through detention and each story is about the same thing, just different points of view.
Jeannie Harding5 Stars Out Of 5November 7, 2008Jeannie HardingVery well written and appropriate for middle school girls. The situations are humorous and poignant, but they also seem very realistic. I think most "tween" girls will relate to Kate and her friends. The book has a great message about godly living for young girls without beating them over the head with it. It has great discussion questions in the back to encourage deeper reflection. I can't wait to pass this on to my friends with girls this age and to read the other Secret Keeper Girl books!
