Tell us a little about yourself. I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord in 1989 while attending Texas Tech University. The Lord called me to missions and pastoral ministry a little over twenty years ago. My wife, Candice Phillips, and I have served Him for eleven years in India and nine years in the U.S. We have two beautiful children and have enjoyed our life's journey with Christ. In these years of ministry we have been privileged to see Christ bring healing to those bound by addictions and have witnessed Jesus heal marriages that are broken. Our joy continues to be serving our Master and King and loving His people.
What was your motivation behind this project? It started off as part of my journal entries while I sought Lord for healing in my own life. Through the years of ministry, I discovered that many of those I counselled and pastored needed deep emotional healing as I once did. We are all on a journey and even though there are no short-cuts there is Christ who desires to heal and deliver us from emotional wounds.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My hope and prayer for this book is that it would be used as a resource for individuals, small groups and church leaders so that healing and restoration can come at the feet of Jesus. It is only meant to point toward the One who is more than able to supernaturally restore the brokenhearted and bring healing to areas of emotional instability in our life.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This book continues to remind me that renewal and healing is not a quick-fix it but is walking with Christ by being empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Neil Anderson, John Bevere, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Jim Cymbala, A.W. Tozer, Ravi Zacharias, Max Lucado, A.B. Simpson, John Wesley, E.M. Bounds. These are just a few of the many authors who have blessed me over the years.
