Imagine the holy land, over 2,000 years ago - a time shrouded in darkness and uncertainty. A young woman named Mary and her husband, Joseph, travel many miles to the village of Bethlehem. To passersby, they would seem all but ordinary. Now imagine the sheer, almost unfathomable magnitude of the secret task carried by this young couple. This is the journey of the people whom God selected for a most sacred purpose - to bring the Son of God, our Messiah, into the world.
In The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem, Adam Hamilton shines fresh light on this vital story, integrating historical and archaeological information, and interweaving personal reflection to illuminate this most pivotal moment in history. Look deeper into the life and birth of Christ and gain insight into your own journey with the Lord, as you follow in the sacred footsteps of Mary, Joseph and others on the journey to Bethlehem. eegates5 Stars Out Of 5Great StudyDecember 4, 2014eegatesQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Rev. Adam Hamilton developed a thought provoking study, packed full of insights for those of us who may have become lazy regarding Christmas. The intertwining of Biblical, archeological and cultural nuances really helped me and our Bible study group better understand what God teaches us through the conception and birth of Jesus Christ. I highly recommend this study and the complementary DVD and daily devotional.
eegates2 Stars Out Of 5Great Text, Poor Reader SoftwareDecember 2, 2014eegatesQuality: 2Value: 4Meets Expectations: 1Adam Hamilton's book is very good -- apparently well researched and thought provoking. However, the CBD e-book platform is not user friendly. Highlighting and inserting notes are more cumbersome/difficult in CBD's format than in iBooks.

A variety of faith walks made discussion very meaningful at this time of the year. The books & dvd will go into our church library for use in the future for those who were not able to attend at this time.
