For better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health...
Anyone who has been married has said these words, or made a similar vow to their spouse. And yet, the painful reality is that half of all marriages end in divorce. Knowing this makes the marriage between Joni and Ken Eareckson Tada all the more remarkable. In their thirty years of marriage they've faced quadriplegia, depression, chronic pain and cancer together. In their weakness God has shown His strength and given them the grace to love and serve each other.
In Joni & Ken: An Untold Love Story, the Tada's share the journey of their marriage, from their first dinner date in 1980, to the present day as Joni survived breast cancer. Their story is not a love story you'll see at the movies, or read in a novel, but it's the truest kind, filled with commitment, sacrifice, and faith that defies the odds. As you read, you'll discover God's immeasurable grace to face your daily trials and to love those in your life as He does.

This is the true love story of Joni and her husband of 30 years, Ken Tada. A love story showing what it truly means for a man and a woman to live in love … in sickness and in health.
Even the honeymoon wasnt easy. Did Ken realize what he was getting into when he proposed to Joni, a quadriplegic woman? As their marriage years moved on, Ken became increasingly overwhelmed by the never-ceasing demands of caring for Joni, who begins to experience chronic, extreme, nightmarish pain. Ken sinks into depression, and the couple finds themselves on parallel tracks in life, married and living under the same roof but drifting apart emotionally.
But as they fight for their marriage and find their way through the mazes of depression and pain, they wrap their two lives around their rockJesus.
During Kens denial of Jonis diagnosis, and Jonis thoughts of how wonderful a quick exit to heaven would be, they experience a personal visitation with the savior you will never forget.
Ken Tada recently retired from thirty-two years of teaching and has come on board with Joni and Friends to serve as Director of Ministry Development. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and in 2001 received Family Life Ministries Robertson McQuilkin Award honoring The Courageous Love of a Marriage Covenant Keeper. Ken is an avid fly fisherman and helps to lead Wild Adventures, a fishing ministry for men.
