I was required to purchase and read Why Johnny Can't Preach for a seminary course, and I decided to by both books together. I appreciate the writing style and personal reflections of Dr. Gordon. This book emphasizes biblical truths even more than his other work, and I appreciate the great truths expressed in the hymns of the faith. Though I don't agree with everything Dr. Gordon says, I appreciate his opinions and conviction, and love for God's people. We might all be well-served to meditate through the words of a hymnal.
