I reviewed about 10 different study guides for 1, 2, 3, John and found this the best to use for small Bible study groups. It not only covers the actual text thoroughly, but also includes life applications and other scripture references to support the text.

Our small group is about halfway through this book. While the commentary from Dr. Jeremiah is insightful and interesting we find the questions overly simplified. It tells you exactly which verses to find the answsers - almost like a cut and paste . We pretty much skip over the Review section since it's the same questions as before just worded differently. Maybe this would be okay for newer Christians but we are a group in which the majority of us have been Christians most of our lives ( 40+ years ). I expected more from a book by Dr. Jeremiah. Again, his commentary is good, it's the questions that are lacking in depth.
