The Passion Translation Project is a groundbreaking attempt to re-introduce the passion and fire of the Bible to the English reader. God longs to have His Word expressed in every language in a way that would unlock the ‘passion’ of His heart. The goal of this work is to trigger inside of every English speaker an overwhelming response to the truth of the Bible as it is unfiltered by religious jargon – unfolding the deep mysteries of the Scriptures in the language of love, the language of the heart. Accurate to the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts, but passionately powerful in a contemporary form.
The “Word” is not just dead letters; it’s the Living Expression of God—Jesus Christ. The Word came with skin as the Perfect Man and the living manifestation of God’s glory. The Gospel of John is all about this beautiful Christ. To read John’s gospel is to encounter Jesus.
John is also the Gospel of believing! This book reveals that Jesus Christ is the Light of the World, the Savior, the King, the true Anointed One, the Living Bread, and the Loving Shepherd. Matthew, Mark, and Luke give us the history of Christ, but John writes to unveil the mystery of Christ. Here, Jesus is seen as the Lamb of God, the Good Shepherd, the Kind Forgiver, the Tender Healer, the Compassionate Intercessor, and the Great I Am.

Brian and Candice Simmons have been described as true pioneers in ministry. Their teaching gifts have opened doors in many nations to take the message of awakening and revival. For the last forty years they have labored together to present Christ in His fullness wherever God sends them. As a witness firsthand of a revival, which swept through their jungle village where they were serving as missionaries and saw many converted to following Jesus Christ. Brian and Candice were ruined for status quo Christianity. Recently they were inspired to launch a new dynamic version of the Scriptures encompassing the early Aramaic manuscripts along with the traditional Greek and Hebrew texts. A pastor, Bible teacher and linguist, Brian is the author of numerous books and has helped establish a number of ministries.

bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: Over 65Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5A fresh translation emphasizing the emotion of a passageDecember 28, 2014bookwomanjoanOak Harbor, WAAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4My first thought was, another translation? But I was happily surprised when I read this one. It is a thought-for-thought, not a word-for-word translation. Simmons really tries to express the emotion implied in the original language. I found some passages unique. For example, "The Jewish leaders sneered." Sneered. That gives a sense of emotion I've not seen before. When some of the disciples couldn't take some of Jesus' teaching, they said, "That's disgusting!" That gives a sense of their feeling better than any other translation I've read.
This is a fresh dynamic equivalent translation and should be compared to a literal translation to receive an overall accurate reading of the original. Simmons has provided many footnotes so readers know when his translation is implied from the actual original words.
