Product Description

Beautifully written and illustrated, The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the center of God's great story of salvation---and at the center of their story too.

The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the Story beneath all the stories in the Bible. It takes the whole Bible to tell this Story. And at the center of the Story, there is a baby, the Child upon whom everything would depend. From Noah to Moses to King David, every story whispers his name. Jesus is like the missing piece in a puzzle---the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together.

This book paraphrases a selection of Bible stories in ways that really connect with children and adults alike. It succeeds in putting the reader right into the story in a most inviting way. It provokes questions and inspires conversation and discussion between generations--key ingredients of lasting faith formation.

Despite that the writer seems to believe that there is no need for works (the law is done away), this book is beautifully written and illustrated. Many children's Bibles have some beliefs not quite in line with the Bible. This one is no different. God will love us despite our mistakes, but we should still be working toward perfection. The law still exists. I do love that it emphasizes God's never giving up love for us all.

Wonderfully illustrated, this book is filled with Jesus and the good news of His amazing plan to rescue us. I have shared this book many many times with all sort of people. My 80+ Jewish friend loved it. The Hispanic kids I read it to are enthralled.

This title was recommended to me so I purchased my first copy. When I received that copy I read it cover to cover and really enjoyed the text. No it is not a "word to word" translation but what it does contain is God's message of love for his children (for each of his children). It's a Bible for children, for people seeking what God means to His children and for those who read to others. They will find a loving Father, His Son and Spirit. I have given away my second order of 3 and will need to order again soon.
