Christian Women Everywhere Will See Themselves - and Find Hope - in This Funny, Adventurous Book by Debut Author
Christian women often struggle with the tension between who we are and who we were designed - and yearn - to be. There's a lot of pressure for us to live out the perfect Christian life, but everyday struggles can be discouraging and make us feel like we're not living up to our God-given potential.
Author Susanna Foth Aughtmon, a pastor's wife and mother of three, knows that feeling all too well, which she explores in her debut book, All I Need is Jesus and a Good Pair of Jeans: The Tired Supergirl's Search for Grace.
She opens up about many of the struggles and difficulties that we as women of faith face on a day-to-day basis, most of which we never talk about. Through her candidness and down-to-earth humor, she reassures women that they are not alone in facing these hardships. But most of all, she shows women that there's hope. Aughtmon digs into Scripture and shows readers how they can face these burdens, grow closer to God through them and become more of the kind of woman that God has in mind for them.
All I Need is Jesus and a Good Pair of Jeans looks at almost two dozen of the struggles women deal with most, including:
Readers will have a chance to find out how another woman handles - and overcomes - these areas of frustration that burden so many Christian women. Readers will identify with her humorous examples from daily life and will gain insight from this tired supergirl on her journey of grace.
"It is almost as if Sue walks into a confessional booth and invites us as readers to go in with her," remarks pastor and author Mark Batterson. "She shares personal struggles that take tremendous courage to reveal. It was so refreshing and encouraging to know that I'm not alone."
All I need is Jesus and a Good Pair of Jeans also includes more than 75 questions that complement each chapter, and makes for a great resource for small groups or Bible studies.

Patricia Chadwick5 Stars Out Of 5January 19, 2009Patricia ChadwickThis is a great book because the author writes honestly and from her heart. She can relate to all of us who try to do it all and try to be Super Girls. Whether you are tired, jealous, angry, exhausted, undisciplined, prideful, feeling unlovable, and more, Susanna covers it in this well-written book about her own struggles and explains what the Bibles says on how to deal with them. Its a fairly quick read and a great pick-me-up when you are down.
