Honest Prayers From A Trusting Heart
Published by Zondervan
At all times, no matter if good, bad or whatever, we all need Jesus. In this book you get a collection of about 100 prayers. Each prayer is written in a form that it is like a personal letter to Jesus. Along with each prayer there is a scripture verse and a short devotion or commentary and a space for you to journal your thoughts or answers to your prayer, etc.. The prayers are grouped together in sections dealing with a difference needs that you have for Jesus. They include guidance, comfort, grace, faith, hope, wisdom, when you feel overwhelmed, when you feel gratitude, when you feel heartbroken and disappointment. All the reading will help you.
The need for Jesus is for all and this collection of prayer will help in those times. You can use it as a devotional or when you need that comfort of knowing Jesus is there with you. There are extra journaling pages added at the end of each section for those extra thoughts. This book would make a great gift for a friend or love one and a great addition to your library.

DaddysLilRose5 Stars Out Of 5Great BookAugust 25, 2017DaddysLilRoseQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Hi Everyone! I was given this book for review. The opinions are my own. I was not directed to write the review a certain point of view. I found this devotional to be a nice compliment to my Bible and morning devotions. I found that they were laid out by topics. I liked there was a short devotional reading and questions at the end to make you think about what you just read. There was also a writing area that you can write out a prayer; write about the devotional that you just read. I filled mine out in a notebook so that if I wanted to share the book I could do so without sharing personal thoughts and things I would have written in the book. I must say that the book left me with much to ponder. I also did share some of the questions that made you think with some friends as they brought up things to me that I recalled what I read. I shared with them and they started thinking about what I had said. I also directed them to where they could purchase the book. I will also add that this would be a nice gift for a family member, family friend, a secret sister at church. Thanks.
Elise5 Stars Out Of 5One of my new favorite thingsAugust 18, 2017EliseQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This might be my new favorite thing! The book itself is slim and has a hard cover, but the size of a normal paperwork book. I was initially expecting a smaller, almost pocket-size, devotional type sized book, so it was pleasantly surprising to see that it was bigger than a typical devotional. Plus, the texture of it feels good in my hands.
The book has prayers on different subjects separated into the different sections. If you're really struggling with something, you can find a prayer on that general topic. On the left pages are the prayers and the right side pages have a short prompt related to the prayer and lines for journaling your own prayer or thoughts. I'm not sure I'll use the prompt section, but I LOVE the prayer pages. They are just vague enough that you can apply them easily to your life, but powerful enough that they make me feel interested and invested in the words as I use the prayers as a template.
