This is absolutely one gorgeous book! The book itself is a navy blue hardcover with gold foiling on the front and back. The cover has a bit of texture to it and the foiling gives it both a fairy-tale kind of feel (on the front cover) and "old time" Victorian-era look (on the back cover). I love the end pages which are white with antique gold stars and dotting. Just stunning in and of itself. There's a beautiful presentation page to gift this gorgeous devotional to someone. I love the font size and style. It's not small, but not overwhelming either -- it's perfect. The quality of the paper is by far phenomenal. It's glossy, but I don't find that my pens or highlighters smear and it's think enough to use various types of writing utensils.

Setup for a devotion is beautiful. You get an image on the left that is focused mostly on nature in some way while relating to the devotion. On the right side you get your day, title, scripture, devotion and a question to help you ponder. What I adore the most is that before you even get into reading your devotion you get a definition or few of key words in the scripture to help you fully understand the context and meaning of the word.

This devotional is perfect for the mornings with a cup of tea or coffee because it helps you to spend time with Jesus and really think about the goodness of our Father. Highly recommend this book as it will help those looking to begin a devotion time or even those who are seasoned at their devotion time. I don't think anyone could have enough devotionals!

This book is a good tool for use as you cultivate your private world of communion with God. The author divides one hundred names of Jesus into brief, daily devotionals. I like that each day features a different image, usually of nature. The image sets a contemplative mood.

Each devotion features a verse with the name or title of Jesus in all caps for emphasis. Then a definition of the word is provided. The bulk of the devotion is a prayer with the name as a theme. The author gives a reflection question at the end.

This book is simple and straightforward. The prayers set a tone of worship and awe, and they can serve as springboards for your personal prayer time.

The only complaint I have is the excess of exclamation points, often more than one in a row. To me, they feel too casual for a book of devotions. However, some may feel that they add extra excitement.

If you are looking to grow in your understanding of who Jesus is, 100 Days with Jesus will help you study the many names He has, and the many ways He ministers to you.

My gratitude goes out to B & H Publishing Group, who provided me an advance copy of this book for review.

This beautiful little hard back book guides readers through 100 names of Christ, their meanings, and a responsive prayer. With full color images to enhance the devotional aspect of the book, readers are thoughtfully guided through a contemplation of the names of Jesus.

I love how each name is introduced with the verse from which we learn of a different aspect of Christ. These verses are followed with definitions of key terms that help the reader process how this name helps us get to know our Savior better.

This devotional would make an excellent gift for friends or family for Christmas. It would be a wonderful devotional to start off the New Year. It would also make a great gift for school teachers or Sunday school teachers.

Kaleidoscopeeveryway you turn it, new beauty.

Christ, the kaleidoscope revealed of infinite God. God, infinite in beauty SPEAKS. But in these last days, he has spoken to us by HIS SONthe radiance of the glory of God (Heb. 1:2-3). Jesus, the revealed in finite of the infinitude of God. Jesus but yet a God-Man with innumerable names. Do we know this Jesus, the Lion and the Lamb, the Carpenter and Creator? Have we sought to meditate on his names?

Diann Cotton does so in her devotional 100 Days with Jesus. In one hundred days she invite us to mediate on the person of Jesus. One hundred names. One hundred different, radiant facets of the infinite God, a kaleidoscope of discovery into his beauty. Each day has a verse, a simple definition, and then an awe-struck exploration of how that name unfolds who the Son of Man is and who is he for us. Each day ends with a personal application or thought. One hundred beautiful pictures accompany, revealing the God who speaks in his Son and who speaks in creation and beauty. It is a feast for the eyes, heart, mind, and soul.

With the hundreds of devotionals out there, why this one? It is about Jesus. A. W. Tozers words ring true, what you think about God is the most important thing about you. It is in Christ that we will find transformation, more than mere application, or positive thinking, or a feel-good thought at the beginning of the day. Diann Cotton of Austin Stone is very apt to deliver such a gospel-centered devotional.

100 Days With Jesus: A Daily Glimpse Into the Person of Christ by Diann Cotton is a really nice devotional book focusing on 100 names of Jesus. While some of the traditional names like Bright Morning Star and Living Water are included, there are unexpected ones like Baby, Unchangeable and Minister in the Sanctuary. The devotions are short and take only a few minutes to read, but they include some nice features. Each devotion begins with the verse from which the name of Jesus is derived. This is followed by a definition of the key word(s) that make up the name. The author then provides her thoughts on the name, and the devotion ends with a personal question and prayer of praise.

Even though they are brief, the devotions are still insightful, and I enjoyed reading about both familiar and unfamiliar names of Jesus and seeing how the author conveyed her thoughts on the verses. I love the author's story of why she wrote her book - to better understand the names of Jesus that she had put on Christmas ornaments for her tree. It is such a good thing to not take what we hear for granted but to study and investigate when we have questions about the Bible.

The cover of the book is beautiful, and this book would make a nice gift. My only complaint about this book is the pictures that accompany each devotion. While I think color photography is a nice approach and there are a few good images scattered throughout the book, most of the pictures seem like stock photos and don't really add much to the devotions.

Overall, though, I like this book and have suggested it on my blog site, proverbialtruths.wordpress.com where I encourage others to seek a better life through living out Scripture.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes and the opinions I have expressed in my review are entirely my own.
