Fascinating read for anyone who is interested in revival and what it will take to get there. I've had the book for awhile because it got misplaced. I wish I had read it sooner because it contains so much valuable information for believers who want to see God's Kingdom advance on earth.
In particular, I appreciated the diplomatic way the author approached the thorny subject of getting the generations within the church body to work together to go forward. The older members are sometimes reluctant to let go while the younger members want to act independently and go their own way. That hinders the church from moving forward. Alignment works wonders. The author used himself as an example as a young man wanting to go with his ideas and at first not willing to work toward advancing the ideas of the older members. He found blessings in acting humbly and helping with the vision of others. He utilized several Bible stories of those who were mentored by their elders such as Elisha and Elijah, and Esther and Mordecai to backup his points. I felt the author to be right on target with his thoughts in this portion of the book.
Other important subjects the book addresses include realizing the extent of God's love and the impact of acting in tune with that massive support of God's pure love; the importance of prayer saturation as revival is sought; and, the supernatural power available within Jesus that is available to believers who take risks and step out in faith to prove that God does still perform healings and other miracles as a way of attracting attention to Himself and drawing new believers into the fold. Each of these subjects is covered thoroughly so there is no mystery about how these ideas work out in real life.
This book whetted my appetite to read more from this author and others he mentions as his spiritual elders. A main theme appears that we are to learn from what mistakes others have made before by hearing or reading about them without having to make those same mistakes again. The positive message of the book left me feeling hopeful even as much of what I see on the news and in the world around me makes me feel discouraged. This book is a big dose of hope.
I thank bookfun.org, the author, and the publisher for providing this book for me to read and give my honest review. I want to go back and reread portions of the book before I share it with others in ministry who may find ways to proceed in areas that have been stagnant. I think people who work in ministry will be blessed by good results if they read this book and apply the information within their realms of influence.

Then this book is for you it is a great motivator to mobilize revivalists and reformers to guide others to live a life by modeling Jesus. It can be used as a study guide in small groups as it would encourage discussions that could guide young believers. Each section covers a different topic, but builds on what you are learning and discovering. There are lots of bible references as well as life experiences that make it present day relevant. The discussion questions at the end of each chapter will help the reader make sense of what they read and expand their understanding and beliefs. The excitement I see when visiting some of the mega churches around the country is a reflection of what this book is promoting. It would be a great addition to any church library or adult study group.

In his book Jesus Culture: Calling a Generation to Revival Banning Liebscher begins by describing what a new breed of revivalists looks like and how we are living in the greatest hour of history. He draws lessons from the relationship of Moses authority and Joshuas courage to illustrate the importance of spiritual covering and the power of alignment in ministry. He goes on to introduce the reader to Gods extravagant love and how we can ignite revival fires across the world. He challenges the reader to see the connection of a life of prayer and a life of power. In the final chapters he calls the reader to accept responsibility, and the role of risk taking in the realm of the supernatural.
He tells the story of Gods call on his life, of his childhood salvation experience, of a teenage encounter with Jesus, and of being overwhelmed with a sense of gratefulness for Gods presence, of his anointing, and of being captivated with Jesus.
Banning describes a wholehearted consecration to prayer and revival, and of the strong desire to join others for the purpose uniting together on the brink of a new wave of global revival; fanning the flames of revival He tells how God used prophetic words, revelation, and dreams to call him to raise up and guide a new breed of revivalists: a generation of anointed revivalists, a remnant raised up to change the course of history.
I was deeply moved by Bannings articulate/word patterns and fervor as he describes the new revivalist, as burning ones (igniting fires) abiding in the love of Jesus and burning with passion for Him.
The book is filled with wisdom for life, insights into scripture, and keys for successful and victorious living. Banning discusses cultivating God ordained relationships, unity and discernment. Banning brings a message of life changing principles written with authority and passion. Each chapter includes profound questions which stimulate (awaken) self-examination, commitment, and a challenge to wholehearted living
Page after page Banning conveys a sense of urgency for a new focus to individual destiny, and to pursing holiness with a new passion. Bannings writing draws the reader in with an irresistible power and contagious sense of expectancy. He has convinced me that we are living in the greatest hour of histoJesus Culture: Calling a Generation to Revival is a book for anyone passionately desirous of seeing supernatural power released through their life.

We are in a critical time, the beginning stages of what God proposes to do. God has given him the role of calling out and raising up a breed of revivalists, he writes.
This is an encouraging book about becoming a people whose hearts are burning for revival. Liebscher tells his own story of interning under Bill Johnson. I was born, he soon realized, to see His manifest presence coming to cities, with millions being swept into the Kingdom of Heaven, entire cities and nations being transformed by the power of God. (32)
He gives amazing stories about this new breed of revivalists who pursue seeing God's glory cover the earth and the Kingdom of God manifest. They are from all walks of life. He also shares his own dreams, revelations, prayer life, and writes about having a sustained passion.
I was happy to see that Liebscher does not discount the older generation. While some say the older generation must get out of the way and let the young move forward, he says all are to be involved, the old training the young. He says the younger generation desperately needs the older generation. He recounts the inheritance he himself has received from the fathers and mothers in his life.
Imagine an entire generation who have made Jesus the most important Person in their lives, whose self-esteem is based on what He thinks about them, and who willingly rise up to shine with His glory in the midst of the darkness around them. (138) If you are ready to be a part of this emerging generation of revivalists, read this book. If you are ready to not just talk about revival but actually demonstrate it, read this book.
The new breed of revivalists that the Lord is releasing across the earth walks in supernatural confidence and boldness, because they have been with Jesus and abide with Him. (209)
This book really challenges Christians to be the light God has called them to be. Discussion questions are included so this book would be a good one to use in a small group. I recommend it.
I received a complimentary galley of this book through The Book Club Network for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
